Shrimp, the problem with Medicare and SS is that Bush depleted both funds by borrowing from them to pay for other things. That coupled with the demographics of the boomer generation aging so that there are and will be more recipients in the near future. A difficult problem as Koaj alludes to, but I do think we can alleviate it somewhat by cutting excessive military spending, leaving the Iraqi fiasco ASAP and start taxing these non-paying,profit hogging foreign corps who currently pay nothing.

Okay, just figured out SS......

The Government puts the money back which they borrowed for starters (plus interest and penalties).  Going forward, anybody who can provide proof of financial solvency (according to their age) are exempt from SS withholdings.   If they are not solvent enough, then they are forced to contribute like they do now but instead of the employer matching, the Government matches or at least guarantees a decent to high return (maybe something very attractive like 10-15% annual or something).

Healthcare.............

Everybody is required to perform mandatory annual physicals with full blood work no different than vehicle emission checks.  If they do not have their own doctor or plan, then one will be provided for them.  Just like in a court of law.

That will cut down medical expenses across the board by a good 50% because most of the expensive stuff can be prevented.

government/congress has the power the levy taxes for raising an army and for general welfare such as bridges and roads...things that are equal pay, equal use. not SS, not medicare, not medicaid, not farm subsidies

it all needs to end, the sooner the better. imagine wiping 50T in unfunded liabilities off the US balance sheet? would be amazing.

eliminate the IRS and get a 33% raise...take that cash and go buy yourself some benefits and fully fund your 401k or IRA

maybe you missed this lesson in life, but it is indeed the role of our govt to help and protect people any way the govt deems necessary and if its thru healthcare and retirement plans so be it.  Your problem is since you are able to invest your own money so well, you think everybody should be able to do it also.  Well sorry thats just not the case.  You got to stop just thinking about yourself, because one day that kind of thinking is gonna come back to haunt you.  All these programs that you hate so much, could all be funded and work if they were just run right.  Govt needs to stop wasting trillions on things it shouldnt be like the damn war and start using that money on its own people.

On top of that the govt needs to sart taxing all these freeloading corporations who are paying no taxes, while the bigshots keep taking home multi-million dollar bonuses and pay

lmfaoooooooo typical jerkoff you are.

I have already said many times now that i have had a whole re-thinking of how govt should be. I have said it more then one time, that my original thinking was wrong and i was man enough to admit it.   My whole ideas were flawed.

So really keep digging up all the posts you illegal drug user{no wonder your pissed off with people with real jobs, you cant pass a damn drug test} that you want, because all your doing is beating a dead horse.  You know as much as i dont like the drugs the drug companies make, they got some good products on the market which can help you kick your bad habits.

Your still very young, lets have this same talk in 25 years and see if mr perfect financial guru has made any mistakes in your life.

I guess its time for me to start digging up all your old mindless posts.  If this is how you want to play it, fine by me, i got all the time in the world.  You started this today with your attack on me, making it personal.

Your just a bitter little boy that blames all the baby boomers for all your failures in life.  I guess your parents ruined your life also, considering they are baby boomers. Or is it all the other baby boomers, except for your parnets that ruined your life?  All those baby boomers that you hate so much, worked there asses off to get what they got in life, unlike your generation who just wants everything handed to you without working for it.  Your generation is the reason{besides wanting bigger profits} companies had to send jobs overseas, they cant find any youngsters to work that arent high on drugs all the time.  They need people to actually come to work on time and be sober something your generation has a hard time doing. So next time you want to complain about the baby boomers, go take a look in the mirror and you will see the person who ruined your life  Your a spiteful little kid with a bad attitude

If a hedge fund manager managed funds as well as the US government, they woud lose their job. WTF, why do the "masses of asses" keep electing these worthless MF's.
