I'm thinking a 15k first time homebuyer tax credit, and 6k credit for people that wish to trade in their old car for a new one. What do you guys think?

I think a better plan for the Obama administration would beTax credits to people who sell their property rights to the government .."Cash for Acres "...........
Since property rights gave Americans the right/liberty to prosper..by the Governmnent buying property rights ,they could then redistribute those rights to the 47%'ers ..
That way they would have the opportunity to succeed. ..and everybody would be getting a fair shot...and everybody would be getting a fair share...,

Nah... just raise taxes on anyone making over 250.000. back to where they were when Bill was President. That way everyone gets a tax break, even those making over 250,000 still get their tax break up to that amount.
Then let the dust seattle and elect Hillary for 8 years.
That's what is going to happen.
Like I said 4 years ago, you won't see a repulsican in the White House for 20 years. People don't forget, they didn't 1932 after the depression and they won't after the great recession of 2008. The next window you right wingers have is 2028 ! I'll be gone by then. But remember Don Juan told you so.

cash for clunkers was popular and highly utilized... and if buying cars would save the industry it makes more sense to to reward purchases rather then just a lump sum of cash to the auto companies in the form of a "bail out"...
I can see the comparison with the real estate market... I know more then one person that made purchases of homes based on incentives that were in place during obama's first term... so I can say from personal experience that the idea seems like it has merit and far better then a coming in with a bail out...
Thats where the bush stimulus checks went wrong as they simply gave handouts in the form of a government check... essentially giving everyone some wellfare and then some how expecting more activity rather then less/laziness...
in the end it looked alot like hush money... give you hundreds or thousands if you dont complain about the hundreds of millions or billions that were being taken...
cash for clunkers works because it positively reinforces action and putting incentives with purchases... it rewards the behavior they want which is purchasing of realestate and new cars... and if you do not engage in those behaviors you get to no reward for inaction or failure to do so...
help those who help themselves...

another thing that cash for clunkers and similar ideas have as advantageous concepts are time limit and/or cap...
If the incentive is permanent then people will sit on it... but having a clear ending date motivates people to buy with the idea that they dont want to miss out... and this will help push people into committing to make their first 6 figure purchase or
but the concept of a cap is also motivating to the consumer to make the purchase because it is first come-first serve...
people envisioning cash for clunkers running out of money only motivated the people to pull the trigger on their automobile purchase... based on the idea that others will get it before them...
so I like the idea... but I say that there should be 10k tax credit for people who are making their second or third realestate purchase...
how about a tax credit for as long as the new vehicle is rated greener/efficient then their current vehicle?
