The 2016 Presidential Election will be interesting.

Not sure if the Republicans are smart enough to nominate Christie.

Not sure if the Democrats are smart enough not to nominate Biden.

Considering he took an invite to a Clinton function over a conservative function this weekend. I suspect that he is just the type of closet liberal that the Republican Party would love to support.

John McCain has finally had enough of his Republican teabagging cohorts, Rand Paul and Ted Cruz for persistently refusing to initiate House-Senate budget negotiations.


More power to Christie for not joining the "Cirque De so lame" aka " "conservative function"

I'll take Christie over Ted Cruz, Rubio , and Rand Paul combined

Because Christie works with Democrats and Pres Obama he is a "liberal"

Biden I think will be a player, but it's doubtful that he'll win the nomination.

Repulsicans have no choice but to go with Christie, just has they had to accept Robney. But in my mind, Christie will get fewer votes than Robney.

Moderate republicans have done nothing but lost. McCain was the epitome of a RINO progressive as was mittens and so is that fat Clinton loving turd of a man in NJ.

Christie is just another beatable stooge that the left loves because he is not even close to a challenge.

I want a real choice other than. Turbo liberal vs moderate liberal.

Rand paul is a legitimate choice.

Nice try with the lie that Republicans need to reach across the aisle. The republicans need a spine and need to stand for something. Not capitulate on every single issue.

there’s not much more to say about the sad state of the Republican party.

rand "war on christianity" paul isn't sounding like a legitimate choice to me.  he sounds like someone who will find a place at the nutjob table (aka republican debates) in between bachmannia and santorum

ilip2003.. the party really is in a sad state, yet some people continue to believe they can recover in just 2 more years without coming to terms with the changing demographics. It's not happening, because they are too stubborn.

How would rand Paul be worse than Romney or McCain?

The idea that another Jellyfish spineless progressive is the way the GOP should go is just the reason that I believe that they go with someone like Rand or Cruz or they will fade into obscurity

Political compromise is difficult in the GOP, which was hijacked by the Tea party

Compromise = A settlement of differences in which each side makes concessions

They (Tea Party Candidates) can't be elected in a national election

Rick republicans are a minority in this country (after all the whining of the polls being skewed for having more democrats then republicans we know how that turned out) and Paul has little cross over ability. I don't see how he would win Ohio, Florida, Virginia and one other Obama state that would be needed.

Cool arrow. What is the point of a choice between two people that essentially believe the same thing. There isn't much difference between Clinton and Christie in my view.

Even if rand Paul loses at least we get a choice.

The funny thing is reading all these posts from people who like to say they are fiscally conservative but don't really care about the social issues (abortion, happy rights, etc) yet are steadfast in claiming that politicians with similar beliefs like Christie are RINO's.

It just goes to my theory that most Republicans are secretly oppose happy rights and all abortion, but just don't like saying it. I have to give guys like D'Road credit here...he has no problem saying he hates happy rights and opposes all abortions.

I have said for some time that national losses by moderate Republicans aren't because of their policies. No one was beating Clinton (Dole), McCain followed a very unpopular President in his party against a guy who was very personally popular, and still was in a national tie until he picked Palin.

Romney never ran as a moderate.

that's the same (i think) position as to why i have much mroe respect for the westboro baptist church than your ordinary religious rightwingers.  they all hate gays and other minorities but at least the westboro folks aren't afraid to be honest about it and put their money, or time at least, where their mouths are.

I'm not real clear on what you're talking about. I don't oppose "happy rights" - whatever the hell that is supposed to mean.
I'm opposed to judicially imposed g-a-y marriage. I also realize that there are no societal benefits to g-a-y marriage and think it a bad idea. But if you're reduced to saying "g-a-y rights" = g-a-y marriage, you're not being too persuasive.

Correspondingly, I am opposed to Roe v Wade and any judicial discovery of a "right" to abortion. You have no more a "right" to an abortion than you have the "right" to drive down the highway with a bottle of Jim Beam in your lap.
