the one about unearned income being taxed at 3.8 percent means you will now be taxed twice for unearned income.  Thats just plain crazy

also why are they waiting until 2014 to put the rule into play about insurance companies not being able to deny people with pre existing conditions?  Why isnt that going to start right away.  Lot of fishy shit

When your basis for HC reform is....   This is Elen, she has cancer and is being denied care because of a pec by her ppo.   She is going to die if we dont pass this legislation.

Out of all of that, you point out that IF YOU EARN MORE THAN 250K PER YEAR, you will have to pay 3.8% on a portion of your income.  Jeez, thats horrible.

Im just amazed that anyone could read that article - or any article like it - and somehow say that overall this is not a great thing.

This all sounds so terrible for the average american health consumer.

sounds great van until you try to figure out how to pay for it... to which everybody says, is all you can think about money? to which only the sane reply, yea thats why i spend over half my life WORKING and not taggin person and drinkin beers.

Considering it is going to double the national debt over ten years and the only solution to paying for a small fraction of it is to tax the wealthy. When you have 60-70% of your income stolen what is the point of even working?? This country going to be just like Europe with 10-15% unemployment the norm, innovation halted and rationed health care.

i know a real way to cut costs and insure everybody.  lets kidnap the smartest and brightest kids once they reach medical school.  we will send them to camps so they can be forced to learn how to practice medicine and then we can force them operate on everybody for free...

oh, i took it too far?  so the needs of the poor are not more important than the needs of the doctors (or any other producer for that matter)....weird, i thought thats what everybody was arguing...maybe you guys just think that way up to a certain point...we have long crossed that point if you ask me, others in here, are still waiting for it.

speaking of your if....IF i am never able to afford health insurance of my own, i will be comfortable with the fact that i obviously dont produce enough for society to afford such a luxury.  if i die when i am 40, it is what it is...i'm just one human out of 110 billion who have walked on this earth and mine, yours, dr martin luther kings, Galileos, obamas, henry fords, ben franklins, life is just a tiny little blip in this thing we call the space time continuum and for your selfish ass to claim that certain peoples lives are more important than others is destructive.

To all the people that thought they were getting "free" health care, your an idiot, and you got sucked into voting for this man. This bill means ITS MANDATORY TO PAY FOR HEALTH CARE!   So all you ignorit people that thought the government was going to hand you everything while your lazy ass sits on the couch will now have to find a way to make more money to pay for something you never had in the first place.
But what i do not understand is this; if its now mandatory to pay for your health care, or face a fine, why would anyone pay for it when the fines are so low to begin with?  Nobody is going to pay for it the first few years, but yet we still need to take care of these low lives? While those of you who have been working hard and paying for your health care now will be sitting in the waiting room looking at 8 lazy, non contributors to our country get help in front of you. Just to go back home, pop their pills and watch Jerry Springer while they yell at their kids. Our country is going down in a hurry. How can someone change the entire country that has been thriving ( yea the last 5 or 6 years have not been the best, but its always been a roller coaster, and health care was never the issue) so quickly? Hundreds of years of life have just been changed in a short year and a half.  Also why do people that make more money have to pay more? I feel the people that make less money will use more of the money that is set aside for this health care system. To me that does not add up. Why would people want to put in the effort to make more money, to build up this country, when they do not get it back in return? All they get is a peace of mind that their hard work is paying for the lazy people in the country. This country is ran off the people that enjoy working, and making money. Now those people will have no drive when all of a sudden come Oct. they are approaching that 250k limit, they will now sit on their ass waiting for the new year, while everyone else will suffer because of this ridiculous law that just went into effect.
How about the people that receive the health care for a low fee of $95 or 1% of their income get put to work cleaning up their cities? Or make it mandatory to give their time to make their states cleaner? Or make it mandatory to those unemployed to serve on the jury so those who actually work full weeks can now go to work and not take time off while people who do nothing sit at home and eat up our health care? I bet they complain about that even when they are receiving benefits from those who work 10 hours days and 50 hour weeks.
Yea i agree we need to help everyone with health care, but taxing those who work hard, and who give up their free time to generate revenue for this country should not be the ones that are paying for this. We are not rewarding those who work hard, but yet penalizing them harder, while letting lazy ass people skate by once again!
Those who are getting taxed higher could have spent that money on local businesses, helping revenue flow through their cities, now they are paying for people who do not do a damn thing get healthy, so they can continue to do nothing. Does that sound like it benefits this country? They local cafe and waiter are now losing business because taxes are higher, vacation destinations are now going to lose money because taxes are higher, but yet people who do not contribute, and enjoy the government paying their way are seeing these benefits. This bill is going to make people even lazier and non productive because everything will be handed to them. 

I have an idea, if you want health care, get off your ass, pick up a broom and get your ass to work. Have some pride in the work you do for this country, and do not settle for having someone else pay your way. Look what the government did for the cash for clunkers, and now you want them controlling your health? You should all be scared no matter how much money you make.

being my selfish self, i want to be selfish in an environment where everybody is free to pursue their own dreams, harness their own resources, and deal with their own repercussions.  this is me being selfish, probably because i am more equipped to deal with real life than most people.  but unless you want our society to devolve into pure consumers (which we are in case you havent noticed) we cannot keep following the socialistic welfare pattern you hippies have established.  it doesnt work in nature, and you are just being a naive human if you believe it will work for us.

DJBRO you made a pre judgment about an individual based on his response. I my friend did the same with you.... ANd his point is exactly correct. This guy makes sacrifices to pay for his health care. Most people in this country do not. They can only think for themselves, and they want the government to make up for their lack of commit. Just wait till you goto the hospital and instead of waiting 10 minutes to see your doctor you will not wait 2 hours. Those 2 hours could have produced revenue for the business that employees you. Yet that business is now lost to some low life that doesn't do a damn thing....
