He isnt leaving, "Goodbye Covers" threads are a well known phenomenon where the OP never actually leaves for any span of time longer then a week and are unfailingly crafted by the douchiest posters Covers can currently queef out.

and at no point in that post does it say forever.  I left to spend 3 weeks in Florida for Spring Training and see my folks, I said my goodbye in order to get a few things off my chest but at no point in that post did I not say I would not return
 
when you say goodbye to someone in real life, does that mean you don't ever plan to see them again?  Thanks for trying
