Got a lucky
push on the Flyers team total with an empty-netter at 19:56. 68 combined shots in the game, and
only 4 goals so the over missed. Mind you, I was just happy to not have to
start the day 0-2.
The night turned out much better. Hit my parlay and the Preds over at +151. FINALLY
a winning day!
Yesterday’s Results (4-2-1, +2.31)
Flyers/Islanders Over 5.5, -130
Flyers Team Total Over 3, -116
Red Wings Team Total Over 3, -115
Habs Team Total Over 3, -108
Leafs/Flames Under 5.5, +120
Predators Team Total Over 2.5, +151
Parlay Kings Team Total Over 2.5 and Habs +1.5, +110
All picks = 1 unit. 1 unit = whatever the hell you want it to be.
PL: 2-8, -5.57 units
ML: 4-4, +0.05 units
O/U: 51-53-1, -8.90 units
Team Totals: 24-24-8, -1.37 units
1st Period: 1-5, -4.68 units
Parlays: 2-3, -0.90 units Total: 84-97-9, -21.37 units
Rangers/Devils Over 5, -110: Including last year’s
playoffs, the over is 5-1-2 in
the last 8 meetings between these two. Mind you, 5 of those games had totals of
4.5. Still…you have to wonder…if it went over or pushed 5 goals in 7 of those 8
meetings, what’s saying it won’t happen again without Brodeur and depleted Jersey
defense? I’ll take a shot…
More shortly...
As always, GL to all.

Avs/Canucks 1st Period Under 1.5,
-111 : Roberto Luongo is on a 3-game shutout streak, and the Avs have scored 2
or less in 6 of their last 7. Luongo also has an outstanding 1.01 GA in 7 home
games (4 of them being shutouts). Budaj is off a shutout so I hope he can build
off that confidence. Vancouver
hasn’t played since Saturday so they may start out a little slow.
Parlay: Caps Team Total Over 2.5 and Canucks/Avs Under 6, +186:Washington
has scored 3 or more goals in 6 of the last 7 meetings between these two. They
have also scored 10 goals in their last 3 games. Ward has given up 12 goals in
his last 3 starts. Despite a 2.50 GAA this season, Leighton has still given up
3 or more goals in 3 of his 5 starts. The Caps have scored 19 goals in
Johnson’s 6 starts this season. They’re averaging 30 shots in those starts.
Some goalies seem to breed offense for their team.

Bruins/Blackhawks 1st Period Under
1.5, -106: Tim Thomas has been a surprise this season with
a 1.85 GAA. He’s given up 4 goals in 2 career games against Chicago. Boston is
ranked 3rd in the NHL with 2.3 goals against per game. The Hawks
have given up 2.5 per game themselves, and also have the 2nd best
PK. Khabibulin has a 1.97 GAA at home this season.

Panthers/Lightning 1st Period Under 1.5, -117:Tampa is
last in goals for (2.1) and Florida is
2nd-last (2.2). Mike Smith has been pretty solid this year with a
2.43 GAA. Anderson’s
expected to start tonight. He’s only played 20 minutes at home this season (and
allowed 2 goals), so it’s hard to judge him on such a small amount of minutes.
However, overall he has a 2.27 GAA. In his last 2 starts, he gave up only 3
goals to two high-scoring teams in Anaheim
and Nashville. A
total of only 10 goals have been scored in the 1st period of Florida’s
last 7 games, while a total of 8 goals have been scored in the 1st
period of Tampa’s
last 5.
Home/Road Goals 1st Period Under 11.5, +100: My unders have been screwed late, yet they seem to always have low-scoring 1st periods. I can't stand betting an under and having a heart-attack for 60 minutes. This way they're small 20-minute heart-attacks instead.

Sabres -1, -125: St.
Louis is 1-4 on the road this season, and have given
up 16 goals in those 5 games. Legace looked rather shaky in his return from
injury on Saturday. The somewhat long layoff might hinder the Blues rather than
help them. Buffalo is
coming off of two losses (to Boston
and Atlanta).
They’ll definitely want to get back on track here. They have 21 goals in their
last 6 home games. Like the team total over but the juice is enormous so I
think this is a MUCH safer bet.
