They are going to be a bigger bust than your avatar
Sorry man, that was just toooooo easy. No really, They will be fighting for the 7th or 8th spot. It won't be a great season for an Avs fan. They got a couple of Leafs in the offseason for God's sake !!! That goaltending pair is just plain scary

Lipps, still no love for the Flames? lol. Kipper will be better this year, imo, for a couple of reasons. He's in the best shape of his life and Sutter/Keenan have the old "better D, stronger PK, better PP" mantra going again this year.
Kristy was never going to work out with Keenan from past probs in Florida. To me Tanguay showed that he is not a game changer and fed off Sakic and Foresberg's brilliance for years.
Another big reason I think GA will go down. This Rene Bourque kid would stop a puck with his melon if it meant it didn't get to the net. When the "soft cell stars" were killing PP's the only way they would block, or play physical would be as if the puck hit them by mistake.
Big upgrade there on the PK with Bourque who has suprisingly overlooked skills. Roy isn't just a one dimensional goon either. Mike Camm has always been a favourite of mine, and for sure will get 1st or 2nd line duty.
Kippers save% has been gowing down, but a .933, and .923 save % are gaudy high and were due to bounce back. Last year the Shames tried adding some pure offensive players ( ie one dimensional floaters ) to boost scoring and that didn't work. The increase in scoring worked, but so did letting them in on the other end. Back to the course file approach that the players they have now have bought into.
The wild card is Big B. he will be given every opportunity to see if he meshes with Iginla. He will get a load of ice time, and is down to 225lbs. The fans here absolutely love the guy. Granted was only preseason and the honeymoon could wear off real quick.
Moss and Boyd had strong camps, and they add speed and fireplug properties to the team. Conroy is fine ( so he says ) as being a third line player with less ice and fewer expectations. Glencross don't know which line he'll end up on.
Even when the Flames went to the Cup, they had less scoring than this team has now. Bring back the green hard hat for the hardest worker in the game. Like I said that's what will ultimately get them having a good season, and they should win the division.
GL all....

Now do you believe me about the Flames? All that group hug was just that for everyone. My spies tell me that Keenan is ready to pull the plug on Kippy and after his performance once again tonight I can't blame him. And everyone knows how much it hurts me to agree with Keenan.
This team is a mess and it starts from the back to the front. Mainly goaltending and D. Also they took 6 penalties in the 2nd tonight. Exactly what I was talking about all of the muscle just taking penalties. But hey, that's what Sutter and Keenan wanted. Well they got it.
Going to be a long cold season in Calgary.
