going to check some Conference and Cup odds at various Las Vegas books this weekend.

I  think the interesting "long shots" are Nashville in the West and Tampa in the East. https://www.vegasinsider.com/nhl/odds/futures/ (which is usually LV Hilton futures odds) shows "The Magnificent Predlies" @ 30-1 for the Cup (which is down from 40-1 a week ago) and the Lightning "Bugs" @ 20-1.

seriously, in the west, whose gonna beat vancouver in a 7 game series on the road! i hate to say it.. but no one!!

2 longshots who i belive REALISTICALLY have a shot at the cup.. sj sharks tb lightning both at over 13/1

and to say Boston vs Devils in a playoff series would be close is laughable. Boston would win that series 4-0 or 4-1 and I'd be willing to bet a large amount on 4-1 or better.




Boston would be lucky to win the series let alone sweep, I'd take 4-1 or better all day.  What do you think Devils would -500 or more for the series? in your dreams,  they'd be -250 at best

There's very little difference between majority of teams.

So you think when tampa finishes #2 and plays Rangers #7,  Tampa will be a huge fave? Fuck they might even be a dog.

Ottawa was only like +200 against the pens last year, now you think Boston is really that much better than NJ.

What was the line NJ vs Det?  Why is it not -1000 like the nba, because hockey is a joke and luck. 

Vancouver will still have trouble with Chicago.  Its just hockey.

After Van/Det, who's anything? Does Van really want to play a #8 seed like anaheim.   Anaheim is a playoff team not a regular season team.

No one will be huge faves against them seeds 3-8.

The top four teams IMO are Dallas, Vancouver, Boston, Philadelphia.

they are having a good season biut they will NOT win the cup..

They wouldnt be able to get through Detroit - and wouldnt have a chance in hell against vancouver. Vancouver OWNS Dallas.

I live in Dallas and goto every stars home team. I know them better than i know my kings. they are having a great season - yes but they are not a cup contendor.

35-1 @ the Spoth Point sportsbook. still think they are the best "longshot" with a legit chance.

AND look out for the Devils IF they can make the playoffs. with 26 games to go they are 12 points out of 8th. current odds @ https://www.vegasinsider.com/nhl/odds/futures/ (Hilton?) 200-1.

could be a similar situation to the Flames back in 2003-04. they were 100-1 and out of the playoffs this point in that season and went to the finals vs the Lightning.

wow, never thought id say this by NJ does look tasty at 200-1. That would be alot of fun even if they squeaked into first round.

Pitt is out, so philly looks like a strong frontrunner in the east.

West still looks like vancouver will own, but san jose had a spurt of GOOD hockey there, if they bring that intensity/momentum into the playoffs this could finally be the year that they make it to cup. but prob not.

The devils were 27 points out of the playoffs on january 7th. They are now 7 points out and i dont think they are going to lose very much the rest of the way out. Whether you believe me or not I have rode them and calgary every game since the all star game and have been rakin it in. Best run I have had in a year.

Since Jacques lemaire took over the devils are a fine tuned machine. Their defensive zone does not make mistakes. Their goaltenders are both on fire. They have a great power play elias and kovalchuk are not only great shooters but playmakers also. This team WILL make the playoffs and will be an extremely tough out for whoever they play in the first round.


I will try and post plays but work is crazy and I haven't had time to hop on covers in a while.

Right now I'm going to sit back and enjoy the third period between calgary and nashville. I've got 435 to win 300 on calgary - had a bad first period but responded really well in the second. You see iginlas penalty shot goal. SICK.

Yes, both teams from Pennsylvania have been the best squads in the Eastern Conference for 3 years.. 1st round in 2009 playoffs between them was the early Eastern Conference Final. Pens have better roster now than they had last year but they must get healthy. Marc-Andre Fleury is one of few outstanding goalies in the leauge.

Looking at West, Canucks seem to be the obvious pick but you never know what will happen during next months. In "Canucks are sick" thread somebody wrote that they didn't face any adversity this year and I agree.. I think that Stars can be a threat to them.. They are young and hungry plus they have some valuable veterans like Brad Richards, Breden Morrow or Jamie Langenbrunner. And this ridiculous Finnish goalie is just kicking asses.




Yeah, you were right orange. Devils and Calgary will start losing games right after the all star break. hahaha man were you wrong - kipper has been amazing and brodeur is 12-1-1 in his last 14. Got any other predictions for us??

These are the teams that I think would be the most difficult to eliminate in a 7 game series if the playoffs were to start today.

Still think its Vancouvers year. I've been saying it since day 1. As much as I hate them, they're ready. They've lost enough over the years and have learned how to win. The sedin twins are in their prime and its two bodies 1 mind out there so difficult to stop.

NJ will make the playoffs and make a splash. Keep doubting me.. Just watch

Caps have too much talent and I honestly think are ready to make a run. They are playing a defensive style of hockey much better than their old offense push the puck style of play. They are going to be healthy going into the playoffs. Possibly played the season like the lakers - alot of playters have spend time on IR could they be resting? They have so much talent and the D is better. I think theyre ready come playoff time.

Philly is playing like shit right now but will bounce back like they always do..

SJ is playing damn good hockey at the right time of the year. If they keep it up through the end of the season theyre gonna get the 3 seed and be a tough out come playoff time.

Um I dont care what anyone says the defending champion Blackhawks can win it and I certainly wouldnt want to play them.They can definitely beat any team in the west in a 7 game series
