My top 4 teams to bet on 2nd half of the season (based on value and quality of team):
1. Carolina Hurricanes
2. New Jersey Devils
3. Calgary Flames
4. Phoenix Coyotes
All 4 teams will win more than they lose the rest of the way out. And most of the time they will be dogs or slightly favored! New Jersey and Calgary are playing damn good hockey. Both teams should have been fighting for the division but both have been underachieving all year. Phoenix and Carolina are two teams that will give you 100% every night. Shane Doan and Eric Staal are the two most underrated captains in the league. Carolina had the best record in the league the 2nd half of the year last year - i made alot of coin riding both teams the 2nd half of the year - watching them win as +150 dogs are higher.
I'm not saying ride these teams every game - but you will be able to find some very good spots!!
Other random thoughts/observations:
The Washington Capitals will go on win streak of 10 or more games before the season is over.
The Chicago Blackhawks aren't THAT good this year. This is NOT the sames team that they had last season - despite keeping majority of the big names.
The Dallas Stars are a legitimate threat to win the cup.
The Los Angeles Kings will have a top 5 record the rest of the season from here on out.
The Vancouver Canucks are the best team in west. In a class of their own in the west. Roberto Luongo is the best goalie in the league. The Sedins are the best and most dangerous duo in the league. The Vancouver PP is GREAT. And its very tough to beat them at home. I hate to say it (HATE THE CANUCKS) but I think it's their year in the west.
The Pittsburgh Penguins (when healthy) are the best team in the east. Philly is damn good too.
Steven Stamkos is ridiculous.
