what a birthday present for me albeit an hour early.  end of the penguins season tonight.  detroit aint worth betting at there enormous price right now, maybe -1.5 if your feelin ballsy.

Thankfully I have the Wings in a bet from the start of the season, look to parlay them with another team

thing about -1.5 is that even if there up 1 at the end of the game there gonna have a chance for the cheap goal so i dont really get why the price is such a disparity.

when nfl starts ill have a writeup for every steelers game (didnt belong here to after the nfl season had ended).
 
i do pretty well at picking their games (some totals even) but i dont really like betting on the nfl much myself aside from there games.
 
 
im sure ill be against them sometimes defintely not this

poker -- im sure youre right about the nfl.  more get rich quick idiots/wannabe bookies involved in betting on that then all of the other sports combined.
 
however, it seems this forum is mostly just a bunch of guys that are rootin for the pens and not much about people making picks on the games.

even though they are obviously going to lose in these finals, you are going to hear plenty about the Penguins in Pittsburgh, clown. the 1983 Oilers got swept by the more experienced Islanders in the finals and went on to win 5 Stanley Cups in 7 years starting with the next season.
 
the Pens may lose some people off season but as long as they can keep their core youngsters, they are going to be a force in the league for years to come. AND the "Baby Pens" are playing for the AHL Caulder Cup right now too which tells you that the Pens organization has talent down on the farm.
 
so as the old BTO song goes "You Ain't Seen NOTHIN' YET"!!!

yea i hear ya....

i play the steeler games as well. im not sure what the advantage will be this year in regards to them...mabey over's since we got limas sweed and mendenhall to help out.we will see.....
im thinking we win the division agian but still stumble in the playoffs.
tomlin has some things to learn unfortunatley..hopefully im wrong.
offensive line needs to come together now that we have a real center and mahan is at faneca's spot where he belongs. if so we are in pretty good shape!!

and as far as the hockey fourm goes.....
you came along at the wrong time. there are only 2 teams left so you cant expect everyone to be present at this point + you were making insulting titles to your threads. what do you expect?
the hockey fourm is a very intelligent one to say the least.
i swear you might find a author or writer in the fourm ..by way of some of the writing. very smart fourm...i learned a ton about capping  period from these guy's...not to mention hockey in itself.

just be more respectful and politically correct and you will get the info you seek..

I will root for the Stillers as always, but they will be lucky to be 8-8, unless they discover an offensive line.

ya some lock statement there too.  i see no sense in taking detroit -260 or whatever the hell ridiculous number it is now, if you take detroit you almost have to go -1.5 +120

not to go on about it BUT the Steelers screwed it up when they didn't give Plaxico Burress the $$$ and let Antwaan Randle El get away.
 
the Steelers kick return game has completely SUCKED since Randle El went to the Redskins. best comment I have heard is "he went from the Steelers to the Redskins and RUINED BOTH TEAMS!!!" 
 
unless they discover an offensive line.
 
maybe the Steelers can get the Red Wings defense to play Offensive Line for them. they block better than most guards and tackles in the NFL

i agree ...if we had the wings players we might have a decent line.

we should be ok......every team in the nfl has issues. limas sweed and mendenhall will help out. but in the end the O line has to step up....
i dont see 8-8. the division winners from last year may not be the division winners this year so we have a shot. we just need that offensive line to be better than average.

have faith JT..

that schedule will be tough in spots but im sure the same teams will not repeat in 08/09. we have a shot if the line is decent...
the defense will be top 10 atleast. all we need is the line to play well and we should be fine.

now i will go to my shrine and pray for the football gods to give us a injury free and cohesive offensive line...

I think my favorite quote about their offensive line was made by the recently dismissed Mark Madden on ESPN 1250..."If they go into the regular season with that current offensive line, the first thing headline you'll see in the Post Gazette is "Ben Roethlisberger, was 25"

Oh, I knew he was joking.  I thought it was hilarious when he said it.  I hope they can get it together and have a solid season, but I'm having a tough time seeing them finish better than .500 myself.  Anyway, we still have a Stanley Cup to raise before the season starts.
