I'm seeing a lot of love for them this week.....everyone thinking Detroit is getting too much love for their fast start.
Not so fast, my friends. Don't underestimate the mental toll the last two losses have inflicted on this Viking team. Ask yourself, how is the this team going to react when they face adversity in this game (and they will)?
Tyrell Johnson cost MN a chance to win the TB game when he dropped a potential INT. It is very possible he gets cut this week due to some off the field issues. That leaves J. Sanford at safety. Solid tackler, but weak in pass coverage. J. Best, is that you?
P. Harvin came out yesterday and said MN had multiple times on Sunday where they had the wrong personnel on the field and people in the wrong formations. A. Winfield was actually on the sideline on a critical 3rd down when J. Freeman ended up running for a first down.
L. Frazier looks like someone stole his dog. He went into this season talking playoffs and now he's already talking "patience." This guy left all his timeouts on the board as TB marched down the field and ended up scoring with seconds left. His reasoning: "I thought we were going to stop him." WTF? But what if you don't, moron?
I read a quote from a Lion player after Sunday's game against the Chefs. He said, "last year, we basically thought we arrived after we started fast and we went completely in the tank. That can't happen again." They know the gig. They also know MN has pretty much made them their bich for years. They know MN is a wounded animal. They know MN is ready to fold the tent if they punch them in the mouth. And they have the tools to do it.
If MN covers on Sunday, I will be the first to say I completely mis-read this situation. But I absolutely love the Lions here and will be betting the shit out of this game at -3.

People don't realize how bad Minny really is. There Offensive line was destroyed by free agents leaving, as was their defensive line. Their secondary has never been great. Donovan McNabb has been awful for the past two year, with no sign of improvement.
AP is the only brightspot, and he deserves accalaides for gaining as many yards as he has with a shitty O-line.
But, Minny is very, very bad. Detroit wins easily. Something like 31 - 13

Well put Hutch. I know you follow them closely as do I. This team is up shit's creek. A combined 3 points in the second half in the first 2 games is amazing. Sad that there is a lot of wasted talent on this team.

They played the last 2 games exactly as they had hoped to play games this year. Run it and play decent defense. Well, the run has gone away in the 2nd half and the defense can't get off the field in the 2nd half.
Even if they are up 14 at half....you know what they are going to be thinking.
I was able to stomach the Charger game, but that Tampa game was 1998 all over again.
Such is life in Loserville, USA.

HOW LONG IS IT GOING TO TAKE FOR PEOPLE TO REALIZE JUST HOW GOOD THIS LION TEAM IS. TWO THINGS. LOTS OF TALENT ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL AND A SHIT LOAD OF CONFIDENCE.

Relax ,you're 2-0. It's a long season and we all know this. One love tap to Stafford and he's done = kiss the playoff run goodbye. You guys are flying high and rightfully so. If the Vikings can't win the North, I will be rooting for you guys most definatily.

Hutch, I could not agree more. Was at the game and when they were going down the field and LF did not call a timeout, I left - I could of cared less the outcome.
Having been put in this position so many times over the years it really does not get to me, but when the most simple of mental errors are being made at the HC position that is football I just choose to not witness.
Detroit is intriguing, so many trends against playing them this week, but at - 3 you are spot on and will be with you in this spot.

This line should be around 6 or 7, the market/Vegas clearly are still asleep on the Lions. The best thing about this game is that they have lost 13 in a row at Minnesota. We get value because of this, and Detroit doesn't come into this game big headed. Detroit wins this EASY!!

Yup. I wonder what PA will say Monday morning if the Vikings get destroyed. No lead is safe that is for sure. Williams is back this week, so that should help out (some). Should be a good game.

Thanks hard to relax when you have been a fan for 42 years and i finally see them as a competitive team. They have loads of talent on both sides of the ball and they finally have enough of an offensive line to protect Stafford. Time will tell but this is a good football team.

Detroit is simply more talented on both sides of the ball. Not all lines that look like this are too good to be true.
After this game Minny backers will be shaking their head saying "what the fuck was I thinking?"
Yeah kind of like the Ravens backers were last week and the lucky cowboys just to get a push.
Lions are not that talented, they've beat no one good for a long time. Stafford is good against cupcakes like he was in the college once he played some real teams he was garbage.
You'll get another NFL lesson.

Min is a system pick "Home Dog Div Rival" but they really are stinking up the joint so far, so I can't go with them. Two games so far where they only played the 1st 1/2 and then were complete ghosts in the 2nd half. Something's really wrong with the Vikes this year. For them to beat a hot Detroit team right now means they would have to have their $hit together, and there's no semblance of any such thing right now. Really, if they couldn't take care of business last week in their Home Opener (big motivation) vs TB, why should I believe they will suddenly get it together against an even better and hungry Detroit team this week? Also, as pointed out by someone, Det has been Minny's beech for a long time, that is HUGE motivation for Det to make a big statement about that..... Haven't decided on this game yet but it's going to be Detroit or pass. Don't like going with road favs and I don't like going against strong systems either (Home Dog Div Rival) so I may very well sit this one out. BOL on this game everyone!

Really surprised you come back in to shoot your mouth off about the Lions its kind of like you said last week the -9.5 against KC was an inflated line. Hmmm takes some people a long time to catch on. I'm not sure but i think the LIons covered that spread by how many oh yeah only 35.5 pts. Minny is not a whole lot better than K.C. this year.

I had the same feeling during the SD game. When the 4th quarter started, I told my gal, "there is no way they win this game. None." You can just see unfolding.
And what does everyone in the league know now? Doesn't matter how much of a lead MN gets on you.....they can't hold their water when the money is on the line. That means teams NEVER give up against you.
The history says MN owns Detroit, but I don't think Detroit will lack confidence this week....and I don't think they will be over-confident either.

Beat no one good for a long time. How about the Super Bowl Champion Packers 7-3 and knocked Rodgers out of that game with a minor concussion with about three weeks to go in the schedule last year and they were trying to win the division. More research before you speak.

Niners13 WTF's with the laughing face. Only telling it like it was. Go back and check last years schedule. The Pack didn't get much over the 50 yard line in that game and the Lions won 7-3. Check it out before you make such a fucking idiot of yourself. You and your stupid fucking comments last week about Detroits INFLATED LINE OF -9.5. Like i said above they only covered that by 35.5 pts with a 48-3 win. Same this week pretty easy money if you were smart enough to take. But you are one dumb fucking Canadian if that is Ontario Canada in your image above.
