What’s your guys take on this man?
As a fan I am nervous, I mean... to give away so much for the #3 pick. Really has me doubting this...
Would love to hear from you idiots!
Go Niners!

Speaking of idiots...that's my take in what the 9ers did
They must know something nobody else seems to know
There are already questions on his accuracy
Guy has to move up 2 levels of play, for a 3rd pick? Interesting

They have to know something we don't. Who thought Jerry Rice, Miss Valley St, would end up in the HOF? Plenty of other stories too, let it play out. Certainly an interesting pick-

Put it this way...when u are drafted #3 overall you should not be considered raw...and you should be ready to start right away....Otherwise you were drafted way too high...Only time will tell...How ready this kid is.

It’s a moon shot. But they put so much work evaluating the kid, you’d think they know. Shanahan and Lynch gave an interview to local radio 10 minutes after the pic. They said the kid is a football savant. They said in videos they analyzed, he made the correct football decision almost every single time. Not to mention, he can throw and run a little:)

No college QB is ready to start right away. Name one QB in the last 20 years that has been ready right away. Tom Brady? Mahomes? Baker? I super slept on Baker but he was kinda ready right away. I'm not defending the pick but sometimes something comes out late that changes things. Maybe Justin Fields does coke. Maybe Mac Jones bones dudes. Do you really want to be a team from San Francisvo with a QB that bones dudes.

When I say ready to start it means they are starting by the 4th-5th game of the season. Ofcourse no rookie QB is ready to start right away. If U are a QB drafted 3rd overall and have to redshirt your rookie year u were drafted way too high. Better yet name me 1 top 5 Qb drafted that did not start early in his rookie year.

Tbh I haven’t seen to much of him, besides against JMU. However he Threw 10 times, completing 6 or 5. However he ran like 20 or so times.
I know the offensive set is highly similar, and I still trust Shannan as well as Lynch a lot. Should be interesting to see if this guy was worth the value 49ers gave up.
Man the nfl draft is such a tease for football... I feel like I just went to the strip club and left my wallet at my house. Sheesh. I can’t wait till football!

Big Ben and Russel Wilson come to mind. Big Ben went 13-0 and had an historically great 8.9 ave per pass attemp and took his team to the AFC championship game . Russel Wilson remains the only QB in history to post a 100 QB Passer Rating or better in both his 1st 2 years and turn the franshice around making the playoffs and winning and almost making the championship game himself.
What's interesting about both these 2 is neither one was regarded as a top 3 pick. Ben went 11th and Wilson went 75th, Wilson had a much better rookie year and career then highly touted 1st pick in the draft Andrew Luck.
So you never know, it's a crap shoot.

I think he was the best "prospect" available after T.Law but that's not saying much in this draft, as there is a huge drop off after T.Law. I think Shanny, who is suppose to be a guru type, really wanted to start grooming his QB of the future. I think he traded all that stuff away without even being sure who he would take. I think he just wanted 3rd choice. I think he overreached. I think next year will be a much better draft class for QBs if you don't include Trev. I think he should have waited but with that said, Lance is probably the best "prospect" after Trev but you don't trade up for a prospect. For a project. We'll see though.

Ben was my favorite QB in that draft as I spent a ton of time handicapping the MAC back then but yeah, I didn't see Wilson coming. Another guy you can say was ready was Baker. Baker had been slept on his entire college career, including by me. Even at Oklahoma, you got the "Yeah, but... He's just a system QB. He's too short. Blah, blah, blah." He's got that fire inside though and you can't teach that. He's made me a believer. I love the kid.
