Van I dont think its the went past the line of scrim thing, any backwards pitches or passes are fumbles. they are counting it as a forward pass by LT

No that isn't the rule. ANY BACKWARDS PASS CAN BE ADVANCED. Period. This isn't up for debate, its bedrock football for years.

In this game, I didn't see a forward one beyond the line of scrimmage. Just the initial LEGAL forward pass. Everything after that appeared backwards to me. So it can be advanced. Period. The refs apparently thought there was a second forward one somewhere in there, I still haven't seen it.

Now you pull this out of your ass with no cite. To be clear....I KNOW WHAT THE RULE IS. You can advance backwards passes ANYWHERE ON THE FIELD. The line of scrimmage has ZERO to do with it so long as any forward pass was legal to begin with.

That dosen't seem right. I have seen laterals (or backward passes) many times after a pass down the field. Where is the souce for this? I have watched wayyyyyyy too much football to believe this.

Only if it is a forward pass, which it wasn't. You are only allowed one forward pass but backwards passes have no limitation
