To me this Is A No-brainer. That's what worries me a little. Tampa Bay should have lost the last week game to the Packers if it wasn't for 2 of the stupidest calls by the Packer coaching staff, that I've probably ever seen, since I'm watch Pro Football. To not play a zone defense with 3 seconds to go before the half & kicking a field goal from the 5-yard line with 4 minutes left to go in the game, down 8 points, makes no sense. But that's history, on to tonight's match-up & pick.
All I have been hearing all week is Brady, Brady & more Brady. It was as if Maholmes didn't even exist. Brady has always had the best coaches & receivers since he's been in the league. Remember he was picked 169th in the draft & that was when he was a young man. His best quality to me has always been his ability to read defenses. I never thought he had the strongest arm & as he got older, his arm seems less accurate & weaker.
Maholmes is at the top of his game & poses a double threat of beating you with his arm or his ability to scramble. Double threat.
So, to cut to the chase
The Chiefs have the better quarterback (At this stage of their careers). The MUCH better coach (Reid is by far the best road coach in the league), & his road record proves it. And the all around better team. So, who should I bet? Home field has meant very little this year because of the smaller crowds. 25,000 people are certainly not going to be a big crowd. The only thing that bothers me a little is the fact that Tampa can be tough against the run. In that category. They are superior. That's the only stronger advantage I see them having. I think KC - 3 is a fair price. But, remember the oddsmakers opened the game at KC -4. The public bet it down to 3. So, I'm taking

Like everyone in here I have no idea who's going to win. You've made a few good points and some really bad ones. Brady's draft position is meaningless. Brady has seldom had the best receivers in the league with Randy Moss an exception. Brady's receivers for the most part were not that great before and after they played with him. While Brady is no longer the best rated QB in the NFL he is perhaps the smartest player in NFL (history). This doesn't take away anything from the greatness of Maholmes and if I had to bet I would bet on the Chiefs.
Shane Ray, Broncos outside linebacker: “If you don’t get pressure and you don’t hit Brady, everybody knows what that man’s going to do. He got [Chris] Hogan looking like he’s offensive player of the year. Nobody even knew who Hogan was coming out, you know what I’m saying? That just kind of shows you the kind of player he is to be able to make his teammates great.”
Aqib Talib, then-Broncos cornerback: “I think Tom Brady started out slow, but you look at him from about Week 7 on, probably was the best player in the league.”
Kirk Cousins, then-Redskins quarterback: “Just his competitiveness and his fire and his drive and the chip on his shoulder he’s always had – it really separates him … Although he’s not considered fast, I consider him to be very mobile because of the way he can slide and keep his eyes downfield and feel the pass rush and throw the football and avoid sacks. It’s like poetry in motion … It’s hard to understand. It’s like the game is in slow motion for him when he’s dropping back and reading coverages because of the way he’s able to dissect things so well. Against Denver, the touchdown he threw to Scott Chandler down the sidelines right behind Von Miller and right in front of the safety. To be able to see that coverage and get to that throw and then put it in the exact spot it needs to be was special … What amazes me about Tom Brady is the revolving door they’ve had at offensive line, the wide receiver position, the running back position. It’s always next man up and yet the next man up always plays like a Pro Bowler. And I think that the one steady piece through all these years has been No. 12 at quarterback.”
Patrick Chung, Patriots safety: “He tries to get the best out of you. He’s trying to throw touchdowns. He’s talking crap while he’s doing it. It brings the competitiveness out of everybody.”
Roddy White, then-Falcons wide receiver: “He just goes out there with anybody. I think he could take the guy from across the street that was walking or jogging, throw him out there in football pads and tell him to run an in-cut. And he’ll hit him with the ball.”

You might think Brady's draft position is a negative, but he went to Michigan and was 3rd string to Brian Griese (who did have a football "name" and a dad who played the position pretty good. Second year Michigan wins/shares the Natl Ship with Griese under center. Junior year who comes along but Drew Henson - dual sport stud/local hero. Henson quit football after junior year and signed with the NY Yankees - and at the time I couldn't be happier bc he was supposed to be "can't miss" 3B. Brady alternated starts with him through the first half of their junior seasonss til Brady wins the starting job (and sets the school passing record for most yds, happens to be against TOSU lmao. That record is now 6th all-time).
Brady was 20-5 in games he started, and won the Big10 his senior season, and beat BAMA in the Orange bowl in 1999 and threw for 369 yds. So not too shabby for a guy drafted #169.

I never complain when I lose a Bet, but the tick-tack penalties that are being called on KC, while none on Tampa. Especially when KC makes a big play is ridiculous. The pass interference penalties that were called on throws that were clearly un-catchable were a joke. How come I'm not laughing. The winner of this game is going to be the referee's. They are the story of the game, so far.

The Referee's took what figured to be a great game & turned it into a boring one-sided one. This is not sour grapes, my record speaks for itself. But a big stain on the NFL officiating.
