I'm thinking of making a ML play on Det this week. A combination of a few things make me feel this might be Det. first win...I actaully thought Jack at home was going to be their first win.
1) Det. has been playing some competitive football and have held the lead, and in some case double digit leads, in a number of their games this year. This is why I believe, although they may have the worst record, this is not the worst team in footbal. Oakland may win that award and I still wonder how in the world they have a win, let alone 3 of them.
2) NO is done. I know people will argue that they don't want to be that team to allow Det. their first win, but I think they had bigger dreams that were shattered with a loss last week. They know they aren't going to make the playoffs so they may just pack it in.
3) Lastly, this is the season finale and I know the fans and players will be up for this game.

YOU'RE RIGHT ON POINT #2 , BUT MAN CAN N.O. PUT UP PTS IN A HURRY , THEY NOT GOING TO OUTSCORE THE SAINTS, IF I WAS BETTING ON THIS GAME: I'D DO A SMALL PARLAY ON DET & THE OVER 51
LAST 5 OUT OF 6 DET GAMES HAVE TOTALED AVG OF 64 PTS & JUST THINK TENN DROPPED 47 ON THEM ON THANKSGIVING( DET USUALLY PLAYS THEIR BEST).. NOT A JUGGERNAUT OFFENSE

Sometimes people out on the ledge don't need to be talked out of it...they need a push. The problem is the results. I won't talk you out of it, but sure as hell won't tell you I agree with your reasoning. NO by 17.

The Saints should win by 17. The Saints can win by 17. Will the Saints dog it against a weak team as they usually do? A small money line bet on Detroit please. (I have been wrong before, LOL)

I agree with the logic. Point 1 for sure. They have been competetive......at times. Led Minny late in both games. Had a Double Digit lead on Carolina. A DD lead on Tampa. They were tied with Indy at 28. IF the Saints get down early.......do they pack it in? Maybe they do. After all, who wants to travel to Detroit in December and play in front of a bunch of empty seats? That is the only point that I disagree with you on. There will be no one in Ford Field. The home games have been blacked out because they can't get anyone in the building. I may play this with you. Smaaaall of course. Good Luck.

I think there do as well but im not going to even attempt it...granted they did stick around with indy but still no way, take the points! Plus Jim Rome is bagging these guys to go 0-16 and i think he will get his wish! Saints 34-21.

lions D is horrific so to stay in this one they'll have to score and score often...hanson is having a gr8t yr but the downside there is that a lot of their drives have turned into 45-50-yd FGs; you're not gonna keep pace with the saints that way...
in addition i wouldn't say it's a foregone conclusion saints are gonna mail this one in...for one thing, they're not a playoff team so players 'should' realize jobs are at stake and a poor effort in this spot vs a winless team would most certainly mean the door for a lot of guys...
big coaching edge also IMO, payton can get too cute at times but with marinelli lurching back and forth on the other sideline really there's no comparison in terms of imagination and daring...
if brees is on his game, no contest, saints by DDs...
BOL with whatever play you choose

If by Detroit you are talking about the PISTONS or REDWING then it is a solid bet, but you are in the football section and the two thing that dont go together in the football section are DETROIT & ML
good luck

I would agree that this is the best week to take the shot on Det ML if you're gonna do it.. Just don't get caught up in the whole GOTTA WIN ONE hoopla at the expense of your wager.
At +260 I bet you can find at least one better play between now and the playoffs than this one.
BOL either way
