Every week Rex Ryan does or says something that is supposed to be funny and further cement his legacy as a lovable coach. However, this is the NY media who have run guys like him out of town in a heartbeat. It is all great and good when NYJ are winning but what happens maybe not this year or the next but some day if they start losing. Don't you think that this media will turn on him. Do you think that all these pics and sound bites are just going to come back to bite him in the a$$? What are your thoughts?

I think he's just being himself. His dad was quite a character too. I like it and think his team likes it.
Exactly my point though Henry-Lilly... my question is once the honeymoon is over and once NYJ start losing (what goes up must come down right) don't you think that the NY media (one of the hardest media sources in the world) is just going to crucify him for this behavior? Just my two cents. I just don't see his personality working for him in the long run.

I dont think his personality would affect much... He could be a mute, if he isnt winning, he'll get crucified ...Winnings is all it matters -Especially in New York.

I like Rex.. He's pretty entertaining...

Let's be honest here, the man delivers, and that is what matters as far as I am concerned ... I dont have a problem with Rex personality, actually I find it entertaining and this is what sports is all about: ENTERTAINMENT ... Imagine if all coaches were Belichik's personality clones (very serious), the NFL would be less entertaining ... Just my humble opinion ...

Being from New York I can honestly tell you the guy is loved around here,,, I mean I am a Giants fan but Rex fits in well here... His confidence, which comes off as arrogance, is what you need to be successful here,,, Perfect fit for a NY coach.... It would take a lot for Rex to get ran out of town

he is a clown. and the NY media, fan base, etc...will turn on him when they start losing. The shit he pulls is only cute and funny while the W's are coming. I bet if 2 of the browns/texans/lions/denver games were loses they would be on his ass right now saying he should be more serious

He took the Jets to the AFC Title Game last year, will most likely take them on a deep playoff run this year and will have them contending for the AFC East division title for the next 3-4 years with the talent on their roster. Considering we're talking about the Jets, what more could the NY media ask for?
Bitcoin, not crypto.

Sure they will. But who doesn't get crucified when they start losing? That's not exclusive to New York. Show me a coach with a losing record and I'll show you some local sports reporters calling for his head.

That is exactly my thoughts too. Just watched his latest press conference when I was at the gym this afternoon and wanted to see if others shared my view on this subject.

1 he is a defensive mastermind yes the JETS D is not up to par this season but you have to think after last year that teams went to school on how to beat REX RYAN'S D. 2 he is a master motivator whose team will go absolutely balls to the wall as best they can for him. 3 win or lose I think the NY media will be behind him for this year and many years to come as the JETS have a ton of young talent. Everyone thinks that this is it this is the year win now or never but that is not true... Sanchez, Greene, Mangold, Brick, Moore, Revis, Harris, Wilson, Conner, are all players who have tons of talent and are young to go along with the many veterans they have. This JETS team is built to beat teams like the PATS don't be surprised if it happens again.

you gotta be here to comment on a subject like this or it's just blowin air. Nothing disrespectful comin from dakota like your avatar says but for you to have any comprehension whatsoever what it's like to be a coach, player, manager, owner in a hotbed city like NYC you gotta realize what u r talkin about cowboy!!! As far as Rex goes he just made himself more appealing to the NYC populus as far as the fans. especially Gints fans like myself who once gave a rat's ass about the Jets and now have become important ...Coming from someone who could not stand sharing a stadium with I am now proud!!! To knock Rex is foolish at the moment. Winning in this city once means more than numerous wins in any other city sorry to say.

Rex is entertaining and I like it. He says things that many people want to say but don't have the balls to say it. I rather watch him saying he will win every game all the way to the Super Bowl than that boring guy in Indy who like to rest his players instead of going for a perfect season.
