I you play for the Lions you are looking at your division thinking about how lucky you are to
playing against two qbs who are goign to throw 20 picks every year and some guy named Tavaris in purple.
On top of that you have a young team with a bunch of 25 year old dudes that could be certifiably legit if they could ever stay healthy. On top of that you have the best qb in your division. On top of that you get to play a last place schedule.

Sprinkle in some pretty Damn good vets like
Raiola, Woody, Shaun Rogers in your line play
and you might have a pretty good team here.
No way are the bears doing anything offensively without Thomas Jones in the running game, not to mention they just lost the superbowl which has been a bad sign in the following year.
Now I just gotta find a better line than
over 6 (-180)

Although they will lose the opener to Oakland.I see them winning 7-9 games, but no 10. The over is the play. However, I see Chicago still winning the division. They are the NFC champs notwithstanding the Super Bowl hangover effect and will give them their respect.

Thomas Jones is a huge loss for chicago. rex is rex, they are kind of fucked on offense
Green Bay might be a lot better than we think but they need a running back.
Oakland if they had any kind of qb would be a very dangerous team

D only gets you 30 % of the way there bro.
I can think of a few teams with top 5 defenses that did not go .500 but no teams with top 5 offenses that didn't finish .500.
Of course teams I can think of does not include me having done any research on the subject.
But a quick example would be the colts going 12-4 with the best offense and worst defense, while the bears went 13-3 with a pretty decent offense and the best defense.
Meanwhile the redskins of a few years back had a top 5 defense and finished 5-11.
You need a good defense to have a chance against the better offenses you are going to face in the playoffs but if you a really good offense you aren't going to do anything.
