So you have a system where you rate the games you like and how much, on a scale of 1-5?.. that sounds like a pretty interesting idea.. what do you base your picks on? or what makes a game a 5 to you?
I set aside $2,000.00 strictly for paying off my losses...
I need a system to organize my bets and everything.. this is as serious as working!!!! you are playing with money
and money determines your lifestyle and other things

Luckythirteen: really... $20 seems small... but maybe I am over my head, though it seems to be the right amount to give me a thrill, be happy if i win, and not go crazy if i lose..
20$ would be 1%... so If i went on a horrible losing streak, i could lose 100 games.. but If i win 100 games I only win 2,000, and I say only because 100 games is hard to win..
but thank you for the input and i'm curious.. do you have the 10k set aside? or is that just the max you will allow yourself to lose?, afterall the season is long and there will be lots of paychecks inbetween

Well you show it there. Your $50 bet = 1* and your $100 bet = 2* there.
Most of my best go from 1-3* I might bet 4-5* only couples of times per year. But with you BR of 2k your 1-2* @ 30 and $60 should be safe.
1 more thing you might need to know shop for the best line and lowest juice as possible.
Single bet is no. No Parlays
I do 99% of my bets on Single bet and only 1% on Teaser.

20 bucks doesnt seem like much at all............BUT..........it is a frickin LONG season........and streaks HAPPEN........good and bad.........
flat betting means the same amount no matter what the stregnth of the play in your mind.......you could probably go with a flat bet of $50 and be okay as long as you do not deviate from it and NO PARLAYS OR TEASERS.........NONE!!!!!!!!
most of the morons on this site bet much more than what their bankroll allows them to and they find themselves back at friggin western union reloading every other week.........they go on a streak that is bad and think they can win it all on one game and it just doesnt work that way in the long run.........
just my 2 cents....gl

Luckythirteen: ha you said it well, I know those western union guys... i'm gonna stay away from parlays and teasers for sure, it hurt me last year when I became new to NFL betting..
White TIger: yeah it seems I pretty much do have a unit system without noticing I have 1 good thing in my favor.. NO JUICE, everything is straight up.. 100 to win 100, no 10% stuff.. its not a web-site or anything but a local.
BX719: 5% each week? or 5% per game?

My advice, bet the same amount ("units")- or if you wish, the same % of your bankroll- I would start small, no more than 2-3% per game (as has been stated above). The one thing you have left out of your calculations so far is the 10% juice on losses, so your 50 to win 50 bet is actually 55 to win 50, 110 to win 100. I would factor that in when deciding your amount per game to wager.
My .02
Also, as luckythirteen says, NO parlays or teasers, and no chasing when you hit a cold streak- keep the same amount per play, regardless of the streak you are on, and if you bet a % of your bankroll, adjust downward if needed.

There's another way to handle your BR which I think might help. DO NOT BET MORE THAN 10% OF YOUR BR in 1 day ( mean all bet combine = 10% max on that day.)
with your 2k BR then the max you can bet on that day is $200.
you can do 4 of $50 = $200 ( But still never bet 1 game with more than 5% of your roll, which you max bet is $100 but not too often now.)

find out if your better at night games or day games from your past performances, some people are some teams are ,then cap 6 to 8 teams a week pick favorite 2 or 3 and play those stay away from creative bets (tease ,parlays, first half, first td , etc). you might make it thru season which i assume would be a good goal also. watch out for pre season. stay between 20 to 50 bucks and it might happen. ahoy from the bahamas

I have never gotten the whole "unit" bets. Use a flat amount. You should only bet on a game that you think will win.
You see these crappy internet cappers who state they make all these units because most games are 1 to 3 units and then they get lucky on a 100 unit game.
I started betting about six years ago and I have made every mistake possible. I turned $500 into $15,000 one football season and then lost it all. Remember that Bucs/Colts Monday night game, I way over bet it and it killed me. Your best bet is to just use a flat amount. That is my thought anyways.
I think 3% or 4% of your roll per bet is fine. Go $75 until you get to $2500 and up it $100 at $3000 and go from there.
Good luck this season.
