With no byes in between. Asking for the Niners.
I think 2 trips to LA, one hour flights, with mostly a home crowd, aren’t exactly “road” games. Just my two cents.
BTW, sorry for leading you astray with the Titans. Still can’t believe they lost that game. They could survive 2 Tanny interceptions, but 3!? Holly s h I t!! What a disaster, all compounded by awful in-game coaching. Now that, J never expected. They ended up wasting an amazing, even historic when you consider the 9 sacks, defensive effort

Bears around 12-15 years ago played all their home games at universty of Illinois while soldier field was being renovated as I recall won about 4 games

Are there any guys who can query any 9 week period in the nfl if a team had 7 road games?
I doubt that it has ever happened before.
Meanwhile the Rams have traveled only once since going to Baltimore on January 2nd. And that was to Tampa last week which was warm weather. The temp in Baltimore was 59 degrees. The Rams have not dealt with cold temps or travel for a significant period of time.
These are factors that physically take a toll on players.
SF just froze their asses of in GB. Add all of the travel with 4 straight "must win" games in a row, you gotta ask what they have left in the tank.

@undermysac
what about the fact that no team in the modern era has won 4 straight road games to make the Super Bowl ??? 3 road playoff games, yes....but not 4 straight when the last regular season game was on the road

I'm sure it will be a factor. There is a reason/reasons why the 49ers arent favored. Mostly just that Aaron Donald and Von Miller are going to bury Jimmy G. And Stafford/Kupp will expose their secondary for what it really is. The jig is up for the 9ers. Maybe they fight hard but I just don't believe they come out alive on Sunday. GL fellas

The team that comes closest to this one was Harbaugh’d Niners. I already wrote about them in Andy’s thread last week when he said Niners were gassed and would lose in GB. The Harbaugh Niners won the last game of the season on the road in Arizona 23-20. Then went to frigid GB and beat Packers on a late FG 23-20. Then went to Carolina and won 23-20. Then finally lost in Seattle when Kap threw an interception to Sherman when Niners were in the red zone. That team was also a tough as nails team like this one. Ironically, they both play their NFC championship game on the road against a division rival. But I’d say Seattle was a much tougher venue than Sofi.

Fair and square for sure, but if you told me the Titans would have 9 sacks I’d tell you they win that game 9 out of 10 times.

Lol all your road junk is obviously a myth.

Oh really.
Yet I said the Titans weren't going to any SB.
But I'm always wrong

Just heard an interview with John Lynch on local radio. He doesn’t think energy will be an issue despite the energy the team has had to expend to get out of the hole they dug themselves early in the year because of 1) the magnitude of the game 2) the one day extra rest they got over the Rams by playing on Saturday and 3) if they win they get 2 weeks off, so they can lay it all out there. He also acknowledged they’ll have a lot of fans in LA backing them, which neutralizes the Rams home field. Also heard an interesting take from Kittle, who said the Rams were talking like the Niners were buried and done when up 17-0 at Sofi. I’m not sure how this one plays out, but not finishing a team off when you have them in the ropes is usually not a good thing.

Per the Team Matchbook handicappers, the LA ticket sellers are asking for purchasers' ZIP codes. They are trying to stack the house, but there still will be thousands of SF fans in attendance. The LAR won't be able to count on lopsided crowd noise as part of the HFA.
Two of the three TM handicappers (Rob Pizzola and Fabian Sommer AKA Suuma) chose SF +3.5 as their Best Bets.

That's quite an amazing prediction

I am not skillful enough at SDQL to do that, but I am certain that it is so rare that the sample size would be so small that any result would be totally unreliable as far as predicting any future matchups.

coming from a giants fan... when there is magic in the air, there is magic in the air. Kudos to the defense against GB but SF had no business winning that game. But the KEY is they did. Something about this team is different. Even when Kyle tried to blow another 4Q lead against the Cowboys it didn't even happen.
I love the rams, I have a wager on them from the moment after the Stafford trade.... but this smells like a 49er story book ending here.

@DogbiteWilliams
I get it. There will be a lot of SF fans in the house cheering them on.
I just started the thread because I think that it's an unprecedented event that a team finds itself on the road 7 times in 9 weeks. There's no way that it's happened before in the nfl.
Maybe it won't matter. Such things are hard to quantify.

@begginerboy
Jimmy G is 4-1 in the playoffs, with his only loss being in the SB, where is he makes that one pass and doesn't overthrow it, he's a perfect 5-0, a SB Champ, on the verge of a 2nd SB appearance, and all the Joe Montana 2.0 references are in full swing by the media.
Instead, everyone wants to bury the guy despite him playing thru obvious pain and injuries...boy you can't deny all that Trey Lance hype look meaningless if SF wins on Sunday...how do the suits squirm their way out of Kaepernick 2.0 if SF wins the title in a few weeks?
Some food for fodder, although I do believe LA wins with a solid game plan to stifle Jimmy G all game long, while Stafford does just enough to manage the game for a win

Interesting stuff. But Jimmy, as much as I like him, is no Joe Cool. He simply doesn’t have the game, though he is fairly poised under pressure and has a lot of heart.
What I’m most curious about is why Shanahan is not using any Lance packages, like he had promised the start of the year?! They could have used him in a couple of 3rd and short situations the last couple of weeks. Very strange, as it would add another dimension to the offense and make them more unpredictable. If the Raiders can use Mariota effectively, the Niners can surely do the same with Lance.
