The analysts at Daily Wager agree that it's basically GB and LAR in the NFC; the other teams are weaker at this point in time.
There putting the franchise tag on Adams so he will be back.They need to improve a little more on defense and special teams though for me to drop a Hundo or more on them to win a Super Bowl.
There losing ZaDarius Smith ,there leader in sacks, so they’ve got priority one, to replace him before anything else.

@vetdrm
It looks like they are set to lose Za'Darius Smith. The key is that they are getting Aaron Rodgers and Davonte Adams back and are probably looking at a receiver in the draft. There is a lot of moving parts for free agency and the draft but I think they should be able to retain a lot of their guys by restructuring some deals. It looks like they are looking to restructure Jaire Alexander's contract as well as Adrian Amos and Preston Smith's contract.
The focus now has to shift towards getting a good #2 receiver through the draft and retaining guys on defense. The two key pieces are Rasul Douglas (I think they lose him) and De'Vondre Campbell.
More good news for the Packers is that Khalil Mack looks to be moving from the Bears to the Chargers where he will spend time terrorizing Pat Mahomes, Derrick Carr, and Russell Wilson.

Za’Darius Smith gone as expected. Tom Brady also returning doesn’t help the Packers prospects. It will be interesting to see where the odds go from here. Pack have needs at WR, OL, and edge rusher. It will be interesting to see who they acquire/keep. Some notable candidates still available.
On a side note, I have to say I am impressed with the chargers getting Khalil Mack and JC Jackson to bolster that defense.

Packers re-signed both Preston Smith and De'Vondre Campbell. Both were a key part of their defense. Although the obvious need is for a solid #2 receiver (Jarvis at a discount?) or someone through the talented draft class......I would really prefer if they got the defensive line some help and drafted Jordan Davis out of Georgia who is an absolute monster and will be a pro-bowler for years to come. He reminds of a more agile, versatile Vince Wilfork who was a staple for the New England Patriots. If they can draft DL, and potentially get either Bobby Wagner as an inside linebacker or Von Miller as an edge guy (Chandler Jones commands too much $$) that defense would look REAAAALLLLY REALLLLLY good.

Interesting team with dark horse capabilities, but with Staley as HC/playcaller it isn't a good future bet @+1600 (imo).
I like your GB future bet, but I always find it hard to say how good it is when it's just march. So much things can happen (or have already happened).

@vetdrm
Rashan Gary is on line 1 for you......... Za'Darious, his one game played and ZERO sacks last year, I don't think will be missed from the 2021 team....2020 yes, but that was a long time ago.
@Ih8coldweather
the last time Mack was "terrorizing" any QB he had just been traded from the Raiders to the Bears He can still get after it, like Von did with the Rams, but by no means is he a dominant player.

I guess I am kind of surprised that the Packers traded Davonte Adams for draft picks. From what I have read this morning, it seems that although he and Aaron Rodgers had a good relationship on the field, they didn't really discuss business matters. If Rodgers was willing to be like TB12 and take a potential pay cut so that they could pay the other guys, that would have obviously been ideal since he has more money than what he know what to do with. I get it......get your money but that is obviously why Davante Adams also left and he will get paid in LV and I am happy for him.
This draft class is talented at WR between Drake London, Jameson Williams, Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave. I anticipate that the Packers will take one of those guys to bolster the WR position. With Allen Robinson signing with the Rams, there aren't many more big name WR to go after in FA.

I guess there are still some decent receivers to pursue during FA - Jarvis Landry, JuJu Shuster, DK Metcalf or Tyler Lockett. I'm not saying anyone of them replaced Davante Adams but might be worth pursuing in free agency.

@dubz4dummyz
Definitely some unfavorable things but I will still take it. There is a lot that could happen between now and the start of the season. Give me the league MVP 2 years in a row in the softest division in football. I can still see him coasting to the #1 seed and Lambuea field is still a tough place to play. The NFC has Brady vs. Rodgers written all over it to make it to the SB. I will take that at 16/1 odds.
Also, like I said above, there are still WR options for GB to pursue and the draft is loaded with WR talent.

Whats up fam? It has been a minute but I saw all of the threads resurfacing and I decided to resurrect this old thread for good discussion. A lot has happened since the previous posts including the NFL draft. From what I can see, the Packers are +1000 to +1200 at most books, which makes me feel good about getting the number at +1600.
Lets start with the bad - Brady returns to the NFC and looks poised (as always) for a title run. The Saints had a phenomenal draft IMO and if Winston plays the way he did last year prior to getting injured, they could actually be a legitimate threat in the NFC.
The good - It will be hard for the Rams to repeat. We know how hard it is to repeat (although the acquisition of Allen Robinson and Bobby Wagner is a tremendous boost). Other than the Rams and TB, I do not see any other NFC team giving the Packers much resistance. I think they will easily win their own division and will likely coast to the #1 or #2 seed in the NFC. To me, this season has the last dance written all over. Aaron Rogers is getting up there in age and for a minute it looked like his mind really wasn't on football (similar to the MJ burnout). It was shocking to see Davonte Adams leave but I feel like the Packers are in a great position to make a deep run........
1) I absolutely love what they did in the draft, picking up two solid defensive players in the first round from arguably one of if not the best college defense ever assembled. Both Devonte Wyatt and Quay Walker are going to come in and have an immediate impact on the defensive line and at LB
2) Despite anger from GB fans about not drafting a 1st round WR, GB moved up and got their man. They got Christian Watson who has tremendous upside and they got him while still being able to bolster their defense
3) They resigned Jaire Alexander AND Rasul Butler. IMO, they have arguably the best secondary in the NFL.
4) RB remains a key strength with Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon, who really came into his own last year. It is a nice 1-2 bunch. At 247 lbs, Dillon is a nice change of pace back that comes in an just punishes the defense.
5) The receiving core is not as bad everyone thinks. They have veteran presence (Cobb, Sammy Watkins) who are reliable and will coach up the young guys Watson and Amari Rodgers. Reports of Amari Rodgers coming into his own an being a big part of the offense this year are a pleasant surprise. The big question is how will Allen Lazard embrace being the #1 receiver and can he elevate his play and production for the Packers to be successful.
Overall, I am very optimistic about this team and my futures bet this year. I can't say I like any other teams at the moment and wont be backing my Rams from last year again, although they look good. The AFC will beat each other down and it will be interesting to see who makes it out alive. So many heavy hitters in that division, but at first glance I like what the Chargers did getting Khalil Mack and JC Jackson.

You view this as a 2 horse race TBB and GBP. I'm absolutely adding the LAR to the equation.
The loss of Davante Adams is huge. An Aaron Donald retirement would have helped you bigtime.
Still tremendous value for you at 16-1. Good luck with your wager.

Odds dropped from 16-1 (before Rodgers announced he would be staying) when I got it in LV down to 11-1 now.
I really like everything that I am reading about the Packers. I am loving their defense, especially the pieces that have added and re-signing Jiare Alexander was huge. I think that their defense is going to be a top 3 defense this year and that they have the best secondary in the league. The only weak spot I see on their defense is pass rush. If Bhaktiari can stay healthy, their O-line and D-line will both be top notch, one of the key recipes to making a deep run. I know everyone is tired of the Packers choking in the playoffs year after year but I really feel like they will get it done this year.
I will be in Vegas in 2 weeks and I am thinking about adding another 2 dimes to despite the odds dropping from 16-1 to 11-1.
