No one is saying the Vikings lose is SOLELY Favre's fault...they are saying he is the only player in the league who can throw such a pass to cost his team a trip to the Super Bowl and then have a bevy of sympathizers lining up after the game to proclaim how great his moxie and intestinal fortitude were during the game.

Then they throw out his career stats completely bypassing the fact that if was a real team player and wasn't worried only about making the next great completion, he would have ran 5-7 yards towards an out-of-bounds marker and had a CHANCE to go to the Super Bowl. Instead his narcissistic side took over and he though he could pull off another San Fran like game winning pass so ESPN could show it a million times and more reporters/fans could genuflect before him...it may have been one of the most selfish passes in NFL HISTORY given the magnitude and timing of it...

Alas, idiotic Favre fans will simply open the thread and post several  completely ignoring or refusing to believe anything that is written here...tragic...

OK if harvin and adrian hold on to the damn ball they are up 14 and he doesn't have to try and save there asses again he runs out of bounds and the games over

Probably blew it?? How about definitley blew it? And which records are you talking about? If its the most career int's thrown, then yes you are correct no one will ever throw as many int's as he has, not to mention make so many stupid decisions in the playoffs that cost his team the game.

That throw back across his body to the middle of the field was the worst play ive ever seen a qb make in the playoffs, ESPECIALLY WHEN HIS TEAM IS DAMN NEAR FIELD GOAL RANGE TO WIN THE GAME!

I've seen the replay of this play over 20 times . . .

and he had his man open along the sideline.

It most likely would've been a first down.

Favre will be back and he'll get a ring. Why would you call head for the coin toss? everyone knows "Tails never fail" plus there were a few calls towards the Saints that I thought wasn't true.

YOU connected the dots perfectly. Like i said before watched this act plently of times in the 17 years he played in GB. Not a Favre hater just tired of hearing all the accolades being thrown at him even when he blows a game. All the Favre lovers, we all saw the game too. YOu don't need to keep  telling everyone about this play or that play or the refs or the coach ect.ect. Be honest with yourselves its all  about the last play in reg.  Thats what were talking about. He'll get over it cause hes been there done it before. But i really doubt some of you will. It'll always be somebodys elses fault. In your minds he can do no wrong. He flat out blew it. No ifs. ands about it. Remember the ball was in his hands nobodys elses on the last play. You make the call.

 Im an eagles fan and mcnabb does the same shit n big games and he gets killed in philly which he should but favre does the same thing in a big game and they make excuses for him...  at least mcnabb makes up his own excuses

You got this pegged right.Could you imagine if Favre was hurt and not in for that play. If that had been Tavaris Jackson or Sage Ros. throwing that pass they would never been forgivin and everyone would be blaming them for stupidity, but not old wonderful Brett.Thanks for the wonderful memory and thanks for getting Childress his extension!!

You people downing Brett Favre know nothing about football or a football player.  He is the empitamy of what a football player at any position is suppose to be, for the love of the game not love of the dollar or drugs.  Brett Favre is the toughest player to ever play the game!  Get your heads out of your asses and give the man his due!  You need to get over the misery in your own lives that makes you hate so much!  Greatness has been brought before you, in the form of Brett Favre!

5 turnovers, penalties etc. cost them the game.  Bret cost them the win by his error in judgment to pass instead of to run.  But with a hurt ankle, I doubt he gets enough.  I did not like the play call to put the game in his hands at that time. simply run the ball, try the fg, if the worst is OT.  anyway he showed little class by throwing for TD vs Dallas the week before.  He deserved to lose.  I am happy for the city of NO.

You're right. It was all Favre. He totally carried the Vikings on his back this year. Nevermind the fact that the Vikings were one of the most loaded teams in the NFL.

And chew on this. Favre was most successful when he was surrounded by teams that were loaded talent wise. Surrounded by marginal talent in NY, what did he do and how did his team do?
