Yes, the Jets can contend to be called one of the worst teams in the league despite the possibility they may finish 7-9.
I just think this line has too much value. Why?
Greg McElroy is not, and never will be a starter in the NFL for a 16 game season. The line was Jets +3.5 with him as the named starter. Then they found out he didn't disclose a concussion.
Now Sanchez is starting. And what happened to the line? Nothing. It is still 3.5.
This may very well be Sanchez's last NFL start. Given that, he has been a starter for 4 seasons. In 2 of the 4 he went to the AFC championship behind an extra strong defense. Either he puts up or shuts up tomorrow till trade do he and the Jets part. He's still a legit starting QB with over 60 games as a starter under his belt (and playoff experience). McElroy...not so much.
Rex is on the chopping block as well. As bad as the Jets are, they smoked this team in Week 1 and the Bills have as little to play for as the Jets do so I don't see the Bills being motivated in any way but to pack up and finish the season.
I think that extra half point here is enough to get my money on the Jets.
I'm not happy about taking them but if Vegas takes on all their action against the public so will I.
Simply hoping for a spirited Sanchez outing with limited turnovers and a strong running game (which could be Greene's last game as a Jet as well) to keep this score inside the number. The points will matter here and 3.5 is enough to get me to bite in a game of auditions for the QB and RB (and possibly the head coach).
Betting on Sanchez's last hurrah...
THE PICK
JETS +3.5 over Bills

I'm a huge Jets Fan and I can't possibly give that offence any more money. Be very careful because last week showed that the media scrutiny and major injuries have taken their toll on this team. I hope your right but they are not getting anymore money from me.

Watching this game is like watching a NASCAR race. If nothing happens, it'll put you to sleep. But there's always a chance of a 5 car pileup where one of the cars cartwheels into the fence and breaks up into little pieces. The car with that potential has Mark Sanchez' name written all over it.
It is very interesting that Sanchez is worth absolutely nothing to the line over McElroy. No, it's not interesting, it's funny.

Spread didn't change because Vegas knew Sanchez was the starter when the line was released. Bills smack him in the mouth and avenge blowout lose
Your first sentence is 100% false. Jets announced the switch on the 28th and McElroy hid the concussion and its symptoms till that time.
Vegas had McElroy as starter on the 25th (no they are not 'in the know' with the Jets training staff who also didn't know McElroy had a concussion because he didn't disclose it) when the line was set that night and it didn't move before and after Sanchez switch.

Understandable but remember how strong they looked in St. Louis? Yeah, it seems like a million years ago but Buffalo is bad enough to the point where 3.5 can make this bet work, with and only with a Sanchez auditioning for his football future behind center. If it was McElroy, I would be on the Bills as I just think the guy doesn't have enough experience of talent behind center to cover that number in an environment like that.
If Sanchez looks like a million dollars this game, Rex gets to spend an entire offseason hedging the Jets QB search (Vick, Alex) on Sanchez's back in case neither sign. It's a VERY BIG game for him and the Jets future to be honest.

I thought about it. I just want some insurance against a late turnover in a tie game and 3.5 gives me that cushion. Could still go back and put a little extra on the ML as it's not a bad idea at all...

Tough to bet on the Jets. Which means you may be on to something scal. I just can't stomach betting on the jets anymore. Ill get an ulcer during the game.

Could happen but O-line gave up 11 sacks last week!!! Better games to bet than this monstrosity.
Not to me. Too many big lines to contend with and too many teams you can't trust to be motivated in a week where many playoff spots are already decided and many other teams who just want to make it to the offseason golf course.
