Its ironic that you point to the redskins beatdown during the 18-1 season, since Joe Gibbs was very clear after the game that he had no problem with what Belichick's team did.

When you kick a field goal, the opposing team has a very low statistical chance of preventing more points on the board.  There's a much better chance of stopping the offense from getting in the endzone. 

When you're trying to win a superbowl, every offensive snap is precious.  This is the national football league, where professionals are supposed to do there job and play 60 minutes of football.  Taking a knee or kicking a field goal could be viewed as a lot more disrespectful to your opponent than giving them the chance to stop you.

There are two kinds of people in this world.  Bart Scott recently said one of the things he admires about Brady and the Pats is the willingness to issue the beatdown, paraphrasing Scott, "If you're gonna kick my butt, kick my butt."

Im mixed with a lot of feelings about the end of the game, none that good....for starters I had sprinkled some $$ on a prop for the winning margin of victory of 26-29. Maybe I have a biased angle as I was sure to be in line to collect as there was too much time on the clock to kneel and a chipshot FG was in the making.  Yet as you are reading this, I lost, but gained the perspective that I wouldn't have had I not played it all.  In the nature of the unwritten book of "what-is-the-appropriate-thing-to-do-in-a-blow-out-win-when-your-opponent-calls timeouts-and-your-in-their-redzone,-goal-to-go?"...With BB, he probably doesn't know, or care for that matter and it rightfully has won him a few Super Bowls yet equally invited criticism.

I for one thought a FG was coming, but what doesn't sit well is 2 attempts on 4th down (1st the pass from the 2 or 3 yd line, then run from the 7?!?!?!)

These decisions make me a nervous player when backing them and fading....I'll just stay away.

Let me start off by saying I had pats -17  pats team total over 32 and  chiefs team total under 15 last night.

With that being said what Bill B did was disgusting. 3rd and goal 1 minute left and the chiefs are out of timeouts and he throws?  then after an illegal shift he runs on 3rd and runs on 4th and they score a td.  have some fucking respect and kneel the ball. the chiefs will then run the ball once and the game is over.

he is a jerkoff with no class. someone should take out brady's knee  when he has him in late trying to score.  amazing to me he would throw on 3rd and goal with the chiefs having no fucking timeouts.   then goes on 4th?   a total lack of respect, todd layley should have laid his arrogant ass out at the 50 during the handshake.

i remember in 07 when he ran the score up on joe gibbs. they were up like 42-3 and he had a 4th and 4 at the skins 37 or so and went for it and kept scoring on a legendary class act and coach in gibbs.

maybe asshole bellichick will win a playoff game this year for a change he hasent done so since his 07.  his last playoff win was when they beat rivers and his torn acl in foxbourgh.  when LT sat out the second half. 

and of course no one will say a word about his lack of respect and disgraceful actions last night because everyone loves him.

yea but he threw on 3rd and goal and the chiefs were out of timeouts with only 1 minute left.  No1 in the history of the game over the 60 or 70 years it has been played would be a big enough of a jerk to throw in that spot is my point.

good thing for the pats that  ditka, lombardi, buddy ryan, etc  weren't still coaching  or one of these times the pats are up huge 20-30 pts with under 2 minutes left that would be the end of brady, they would take a cheap shot at him for the lack of respect  bellichick shows by keeping his franchise in with a 3-4 td lead and 2 minute left.

A box? How bout some respect for the game of football?  Check the boxscore against the redskins who were coached by gibbs at the time and try to defend him totally running up the score with the game clearly in hand against a legendary coach.

Can anyone possibly defend what he did here?  This was absolutely sickening. Up 45-0  with 7 min left and you will not punt on a 4th and 2 at the 37?  It was clear as day he was trying to run up the score because not only did he go for it (could have coffin corner punted them inside the 10 yard line) but he also threw in this spot. 

For those who say "it is the defenses responsibility to stop the offense, dont be a box collegegambler etc.."   then i have a question for you. why dosen't every team oh actually let me correct myself ANY team do this besides the pats?

thats right because they have some class and respect for the game of football and those who have coached and played before them.

A lot who have comnented in this thread seem like the type that would use there timeouts on D with a 45-0 lead hoping to get the ball so u could run ur 2 min offense and maybe try to make it 52-0.
