Paradox - It is a fair question. With this trend, nearly half of the ATS wins have also been SU wins. For example, last year Buffalo the 14 point dog, was a fumble in OT away from winning outright. 2 years ago Tampa beat Green Bay by 10 as 9.5 dogs.
Put it this way - I am not expecting St. Louis to win the game; but I certainly wouldn't be surprised if it did happen. I am playing this game from the spread angle, but one cannot discount that nearly half of the big dogs win SU or that the only 2 losses in this trend were by a total of 1 point each.
If the Rams pull off the outright win I will be surprised but not shocked, because over the years ive seen too many unthinkable upsets happen in the NFL...............

I'm obviously a Ram's fan but I have a "gut feeling" that this game is over at halftime. Ram's need a Miracle to cover the point spread IMO. The Fudge Packers are just way to talented for the Ram's squad. Forget trends in this game and roll with the "Pack". GL to all those who take the Lambs.

If this trend fails you on Sunday, you still have another chance to play the winless colts in week 10 as they get a bye in week 9.
LOL
If this trend holds up, I'm putting my right nut on them colts in week 10 but then again, that would mean I would have to fade them from now till then to built up a nice bankroll for a free play.
start fading them colts now. cinn -7

No matter how great the team is, it's always vulnerable when the heads get fat. We found it toughest to prepare our powerhouse Giants when a heavy underdog was on the next on the schedule. I d try to avert a letdown by telling my players .
" Look, if we play like we did last week , this team will not beat us. But if there s just a little drop off, and you let this team hang around, they are going to feed off their ability to stay close. and then you ll have a dogfight on your hands."
When you get that developement, and i ve seen it many times, the psychology of results swings right there within the contest. The two TD favorite isn't mentally prepared for the dogfight, and they usually don't cope with it too well. Underdog, meanwhile welcome the scrap, " Gee, we can get those guys" They are ready to tangle and you re just reacting.

I am going to quote Bill Parcells here.

And thats the favorite side of psychology of this trend. Add winless underdog coming out of bye psychology... fuck it.. i m not typing anymore. Combine two and you get 21-2 ATS ..

Now I'm a bad capper, says the guy who has been here for a few months.
See my post above. If you think trends mean nothing, you know nothing. Once upon a time and many years ago I thought like you and after I repeatedly ignoring trends, I opened my eyes....and haven't looked back.
I am going to have a GREAT TIME cheering for the Rams on Sunday!
If by a few months you mean almost 2 years than yeah. I've been doing this a lot longer than since I've joined this website. If you're such a good capper, what is your YTD? I see that you had bad weeks in week 1 and week 3. Why did you stop posting your plays after that? Did your amazing trends begin to let you down?

One of the factors people don't consider when a heavy favorite plays a big underdog is how the potential, yet unlikely win for the dog, saves the season for that poor team. This happens more in college, and more towards the end of a season; however, but STL is playing last year's super bowl champs, and they're looking at themselves in the mirror as winless. The Rams could very well be wanting to save this pathetic start to their season.

I follow this trend as well. Pros on both sides. Any given sunday you know. All we need is to keep it within two touchdowns. BOL I am with you on this one.
