In the hopes of letting last night's thread sink to a watery Covers grave, I'm going to start this thread to briefly post my bets for tonight's game, and I'll hope this thread doesn't dissolve into the usual circus of beggars and haters. I suspect that prayer will go unanswered.
DevilFan, the biggest edited on Covers, thinks I post fake lines, but the truth is I hustle my ass off here in Las Vegas to get the good numbers. I spent another 3 hours this morning hitting 10 casinos (Bellagio, Planet Hollywood, Paris, Bally's, Bill's, Venetian, Hard Rock, Stratosphere, Sahara, and South Point). I have help, too, in fact right now one of my friends and betting partners is on the mid-Strip getting down for us on the 1st half under 106.5.
I've been chewed up 5 times already by fading the Lakers in the last three weeks, but God help me, I'm doing it again. I have Utah -2 -110 in the 1st half, -4 for the game (not a lot on that), -4.5 for the game (even less), as well as the moneyline -180. At the Bellagio, I parlayed the -180 ML to under 215.5.
I'm still getting down on the under, but by the time the game tips off, I should have more on that play than the Jazz. It's a Phil Jackson trademark to slow down the game on the road in Game 3 when his team has the 2-0 series lead. But did I take my own advice and bet Game 3 under 230 against Denver? No, I didn't. And did that game go under by 44 points? Yes, it did. Have I stopped beating myself up for that blunder yet? No, I haven't.
I have under 215.5, 215, and 106.5 in the 1st half. The 215.5 is hooked up to the Jazz ML -180.
