Rod's 2008/09 NBA Playoffs

Just for the playoffs I will document all my plays in this thread. Units will range up to a max of 5 units. No exception to the rule.
 
Kick off with a couple of futures:
 
Magic to win NBA Championship - (+1451) (0.5)
Magic to win Eastern Conference - (+570)  (1)
 
Will break down each series over the next couple of days

You see any value in New Orleans at +195 against the Rich and Creamy's. They have the best player on the court, who single-handedly changes games.  They split the series this year, and the Hornets play good on the road.  This line seems a little high in my opinon.   

Orlando deserves to be the champs if they can get threw Boston, Cleveland then L.A...  I don't see it, but that's probably cause I got money on Boston (before Garnet got hurt) and Cleveland.

Philly shocks the world with upset over magic. The last time they met Sixers won the playoff series in an upset.

Rodders, Magic,  is what you and they will need to get through Lakers and Cleveland.
KG is not f*king injured hes saving himself that is guaranteed. Bye bye magic when hes back.
The amount of guess work that has gone on with playoffs and the last few weeks youd have to be a mind reader to work out who will play, rest or bring their 'A' game.
Is there any reason KG plays against Bulls - maybe 1 game in series tops.
Rondo,Allen Pierce against a bad road team there is no need for the big man to come back yet, maybe not convincing wins but wins none the less.

All said GL this is the NBGAY after all.

I love reading your write-ups, Rod, but why are you in love with the Magic? Stumbled into the postseason and Lews & Hedo are hurt...doesn't exactly inspire confidence. It is purely based on Orlando winning the season series?

I hope you right.. Before the season started I placed a future on the Magic to win the east at 9 to 1.

Hornets have regressed significantly since last season IMO, their lack of depth in their 2nd unit was always going to be an issue this season with the departure of guys like Posey and Pargo. On the flipside Nuggets have improved significantly especially after the addition of Billups, can't see Hornets getting a win in Colorado

The lack of depth at PG will most likely ultimately prevent them from going all the way however the main reason for me taking a flier on them is the injury to KG, which has opened the door for the Magic to reach the ECF. If they get that far anything can happen. Will see what happens.

any insight on totals?  under in nba playoffs used to hit around 58%, but that has dropped recently - good article about that on here
 
thinking maybe if you take out the lakers and nuggets, unders on other teams might be good across the board for the playoffs...??

With  you on the Magic there to win the East. Got them at the same price.  With boston pretty much out, the Magic will definitely get to the Eastern Conf finals where they wont be anything close to +570 dogs. Plus they did play Clev awfully close in Clev and i think they beat them twice with one blow out win.
