cavs can offer as much as anyone. what mystique does MSG have? when is the last time they have been a playoff contender, let alone championship contender? sure there are a shit ton of people in NYC, but i think everyone has heard of the internet and that will get people buying jerseys in china just as much as being in a knicks out fit. and sorry knicks fans, but the only way he goes to new york is if its in brooklyn. the knicks are garbage and couldnt put together a team to play with lebron and he already built a contender in cleveland

Have you ever been to Cleveland Ohio? Do you think the Mega- Star of an entire professional league wants to spend the rest of his NBA days in that desolate, crumbling, midwestern state? 

New York is, and always will be the 'Mecca of America' in terms of spotlight. Even the Garden which is a terrible arena, is continually hyped by the media, fans and players as 'the place' to perform. Playing there will increase his presence WORLDWIDE. Do you know how big the new york media is compared to Cleveland? That kind of exposure generate many more millions, several multiples of it in fact, than the Cavs could offer in extra compensation.

And as I type the Knicks are amazingly within the spread 103-94...

In this day and age you don't need to be in a big city to get "exposure". Moving to New York will increase LeBron's exposure little to if any. LeBron is already as big of a star as there is and he's doing it playing in one of the smallest markets, quite the feat. Just watch ESPN, it is LeBron central and in Cleveland no less. Is his popularity really going to rise that mich, even internationally, playing in New York? I doubt it.

thank you andarmac. in a time when other teams are struggling to be around, the last thing the NBA wants is stars migrating to the big market teams. and there was a little known deal made towards the end of the season last year where the cavs sold part ownership to a chinese firm. IF he stays in cleveland, that will be huge in his international fame, mainly because then the chinese (who love the NBA) will then have 'ownership' in the NBAs best.
