I never thought I'd say this after watching them for so many years but
this Raptor team has heart. They got down big early in their last game in Utah and could have
easily quit after such a grueling schedule and tired legs (2nd of a b2b after Denver the previous night and Phoenix two days prior, also at the end of an 8 game in 12 day run with two separate western trips) but they
battled all the way back and got it to within 1 but they were dead
after that.
They battled Denver tough in the 1st half the other
night, Could have beaten Phoenix and battled Utah when it looked like
they were dead. These are games a typical Raptors team would completely mail in even when they had a favourable schedule. They have played a very tough schedule thus far and are
a much better team than their 5-7 record.
Their defense has not looked good so far this year but most of that has been on the road and in tough environments against high powered attacks. In their 4 homes games thus far they have actually held opponents under 45% shooting in every game. Their offense is very explosive and almost everyone can score. They don't turn it over much and are one of the more efficient offenses in the league. Miami has struggled against these teams, they fare better in slug fests. Miami's losses this year have come against Cleveland, Atlanta, Phoenix and OKC, 3 of them are in the Top 10 in FG% and OKC can chuck it around and run as well. The Raptors offense is right up there with the first 3.
This is a game the old Raptors would lose and would let Wade get to the rim at will. Smoething tells me the winds of change are in the air and we see it tonight.
