I appreciate you posting your insight into this upcoming NBA season. No big deal, but Monta Ellis was traded by GS to Milwaukee to get Bogut. I'm sure you probably knew this. Tim.

I realized that Ellis was traded immediately after I posted that.  Was looking at the depth charts and said.....waaaiiitttt a minute.  I knew that beforehand too, but just didn't click.

I will not change the selections though.

realistically I think it will be Heat/Thunder again with Thunder winning it.

It will be very interesting to see how they use him...personally I would like to see him and Green coming off the bench with Rondo, Pierce, Bradley, Garnett, and Bass starting

If you are getting Turner and Smith, take it in a half a second.  Too many injury questions with Lee and Bogut

I would take Terry over Allen at this point in their careers, he can still create his own shot against any team. Lee and Barbosa are great pickups as well, they will give them that scoring spark off the bench that they have been lacking. They will also be getting a healthy green and bradley (at some point) this season....so they are a much deeper/better team. 

I think its going to come down to Miami and Boston, the winner of that series will win the championship as well (I dont have as much respect for the offensive minded teams of the western conf, defense wins championships...miami proved that by embarrassing OKC in the finals)

Finals: LAL vs Miami

Unfortunately i think Miami Cheats win in 7 games but you know i'll be rooting for LAL if they make finals. It would be a ratings bonanza for Stern.

And oh yeah...........your Celts have been cheated two seasons in a row in the playoffs now. Heat love by the refs has been disgusting.

Wow, the Cavs line is 30.5 @ -110. Maybe u should do it :D

Very nice writeups, but how do you see Orlando getting 37 wins? Wow? The line is currently Over/Under 24.5 regular seasons wins for Orlando, and i dont think they will get over that line..

Nice write up here, good job.

Raps are understated here - Better PG, deeper bench, and improving defensive philosophy.  DeRozan will come to play in a contract year.  Probably 5-9 more wins then you gave them.

Bulls will suffer with Hinrich.  Take a look at his advanced metrics, terrible!!  Such a drop off from D. Rose.  I see them struggling to get in the playoffs given how injury prone they typically are. 

No chance in hell that Orlando wins 37 games this year.  Seems like they want to contend for the top pick in the draft and to do that they won't exceed 25 wins.

Can't wait for the season!!!!

No way.

On the contrary, Lebron winning his first championship and if no major injury/ies to key players and Heat are easily winning 63-65 games.

With today's news of David Stern announcing that he will step down and turn the reigns over to Adam Silver...I figured I would point out a few things...

1.  David Stern has been THE BEST COMMISSIONER in any of the major sports over the past 30-40 years. 

2.  Came in at the right time (Magic vs. Larry, Jordan and Ewing draft)

3.  Has continued to grow the sport despite the fact that it was the hardest sport to grow....
               

Moral of the story is that in 1984 and beyond the NBA has been a 90% black sport in a primarily white country.  You can say what you want about the racism in the country, but Stern did a fantastic job of neutralizing this fact and growing the NBA into the greatest major sport out there besides the NFL which is in another world.
