I am going to parlay the OVER on Knicks/T-Wolves with the spread taking Minnesota for tonight. 30 to win 25.
 
and
 
Boston Celtics -10.5 for 55 to win 50.

I just got home. Yay ! I won the parlay. Minnesota beat the Knicks and it went the Over. I was just told by my friend I won 50 for my 25 dollar bet. I am even happier now with that bet.

Thanks for the advise nbafan88. I am not really familiar with parlays. But I seem to be lucky. I won my first bet tonight. But the Celtics have to win by 11 for me to win that other bet tonight. I hope the Celtics cover. I bet against them last night. But they shouldn't be tired and should beat this Golden State by a lot of points, but after the Cleveland fiasco last night... I don't know.

I lost my second bet yesterday, as the Boston Celtics did not cover the entire game. They seem to have run out of steam at the 2nd half.
 
I am betting 75 on The Orlando Magic -9.5 favorites tonight against the Timberwolves. I am thinking the Timberwolves are going to be in cloud 9 after their first victory and feeling like they just won the championship. I am going to ride Orlando's ATS winning streak tonight. I hope it's a good one.

Here's my play for today since I woke up too late on the NY/Denver game:

Miami Heat are underdog +10.5 against the Home Team, Cleveland Cavaliers.
 
This is a Home-Home matchup, as both teams play in Miami tomorow. The Heat have been playing solid and have covered their last 3 games and a push also.
 
Whether Cleveland wins or loses tonight, they will be the favorite team on the Road against Miami tomorrow. Wally is sitting out for Cleveland though. It's just easy to assume that these two teams will game up and play defense, but then again can both games (today and tomorrow) be Under ? It should be logically with a good perimeter shooter for Cleveland being out.
 
Cleveland hasn't had two straight losses ATS all year. This may be the best chance they'll have 2 straight ATS losses for the first time this year.
 
I am leaning toward Miami Heat +10.5 points on this one.
 
Then I'm looking at the LA Lakers/Golden State game. The Lakers should destroy the GSW boys, but may not play up to it. So I'm going to meditate on it.

I took the Miami Heat +10.5 risking 90 to win 75 tonight. I will decide if I will take the L.A. Lakers giving -15 points tonight by 9:00PM. I just want to make sure Jamal Crawford still has the groin injury and will not play tonight.

Looks like the Heat will cover against the Cavaliers. I just placed a bet on the L.A. Lakers -15 risking 90 to win 75. It was at 15.5 but I bought the half-point.

I don't know if I should take it. But I see that Golden State is playing the L.A. Lakers in a few weeks again, so I will take the Lakers on that game as well.

Golden State covered against the Lakers the last time, but there was no Gasol playing at the time because he was injured. Sure hope I'm making the right call here, because the majority of the people are taking Golden State. But they must be feeling euphoric after beating the Celtics. Kind of like the T-Wolves were euphoric after beating the Knicks.

Nice job with the Heat today. And as of right now, Lakers should cover. I didn't touch the nba games today. Usually sundays i get stuck with football. Goodluck on all your plays

Thanks BayAreaBaller. I was glad the Lakers covered that. I was thinking of playing either the Celtics or the Lakers last night. I was thinking perhaps the Lakers will go on an ATS winning streak perhaps. I thought that the Cavaliers were so due for back to back ATS losses since they are the only team that hasn't done so all season. And I won that bet also. I was thinking the Celtics should at least destroy one team on their four game West coast Road trip. But it was too late to bet on the Celtics. Fortunately, I still had like two minutes for the Lakers game. I just got home in time.
 
I was kind of busy shopping at the mall and didn't think the Celtics game was going to start until 10PM.

Dec.25: LA Lakers / Result Win
Dec.26: Boston / Result Loss
Dec.27: Orlando / Result Win
Dec.28: Miami / Result Win

As for tonight's game. It's too bad I can't post here because I will be at the office, and they have such a strong firewall there. But I am leaning towards either Denver +5.5 or Orlando -2.5, in which each case I would be buying the half-point.
 
Houston has good value. If Butler is still out, then Washingotn is losing a player that is averaging 21 points per game. But Houston favored by 13 is pretty high, since they seem to sit on a lead instead of going for the kill like the way the Cavs, Celts, and Lakes going for the kill.
 
The smart money here is to bet on Orlando. After all they have the 10 game winning ATS streak. Cleveland did it earlier with an 11 game winning ATS streak before losing that in Atlanta.
 
Richard hamilton apparently had a groin injury. It should affect Detroit. But the point guard for Orlando had a toe-jam but still came back and played in the 4th quarter.
 
If it comes down to a defensive game, then Orlando should have the edge. Nothing beats "Pat Riley-style New York Knicks 90s Defense". And there are only a handful of coaches that apply that. And they are Doc Rivers, Jeff Van Gundy, and Stan Van Gundy.
 
So my pick tonight is the Orlando Magic -2.5 risking 90 to win 75, buying the half-point of course.
 
I'll rde the Orlando Magic until they lost that streak...perhaps.

A long-time observer, this is my first post (inspired by a gambling Jersey girl who sounds like she knows her hoops and can handicap the Association with the best of 'em - and with great legs to boot).
 
I love the Magic tonite at -2.5.
 
Orlando has been an ATS machine, and I see no reason for that to end against the Pistons.  While Detroit generally plays to their level of competition, which would imply a very tight game here, Orlando has the added incentive of payback for last year's 5-game exit from the playoffs courtesy of the Pistons.  I think Orlando has something to prove in this spot, and I don't think Detroit has any answers for Howard, Hedo, Rashard, or Jameer Nelson (who has been lights out from beyond the arc).  And then there's the Magic defense alluded to by Elaine - that, to me, is the big difference between these teams this year.  Orlando is much improved defensively, while the Pistons have taken a few steps back in that regard.
 
Orlando by 10.

Send_It_In it's too bad we did not cover. You were correct that Orlando is an ATS machine this year. Cleveland went through an 11 game ATS winning streak until a couple of weeks ago. Orlando before game time with Detroit was on a 10 game ATS winning streak. I was going to see if they would eclipse that. Unfortunately, they did not. And Detroit played them on a physical game as it seems on the Personal Fouls commited.
 
d2bnz unfortunately, I did not win yesterday. But that's okay.
 
Well as for today, before going to work I looked at the spread, and perhaps you will think I am insane, but I am looking at the NY Knicks getting +5 against the Charlotte Bobcats. Although Charlotte has scored against the Knicks, they are the lowest scoring team in the NBA. They can certainly defeat the Knicks with their new additions from Phoenix (Diao and Bell). But -5 favorites are pretty high. They don't have the scoring machine they sent to Dallas in the trade for the two above. All it takes is for the Knicks' three-point shots to start sinking at 30 % to 33% and they will blow away Charlotte. Plus some of the guys might get motivated against a former Knick coach. And don't forget after Charlotte's last game, Bell suffered a groin injury. Even if he plays, he won't be as effective as if he was playing without one.
 
Another one is Cleveland against Miami at Miami. The Cavaliers should beat them, but they don't have Wally S. Well even if Wally shows up he won't be effective as his knees have been bothering him a lot lately. Cleveland at -5 on the road seems to sound like a steal. I would take them right now, but look at what happened with Detroit getting points as an underdog at home. Plus Miami didn't exactly get wiped out at Cleveland even though Miami had a young team.
 
And why is Atlanta at +1 in Indiana?

I just placed a bet on Boston Celtics -4 (bought 1/2 point) risking 120 to win 100. And I also took the New York Knicks +5.5 (bought 1/2 point) risking 90 to win 75.
 
Well as usual I take on a 1st place team.
 
Houston at -13 lost to Washington last night. Dallas is -12.5 favorites against Minnesota. Dallas should beat them outright. But I am staying away from these games.

There are 3 home underdogs today ( Miami,Memphis, and Portland). One or two of these teams will definitely not cover. Yesterday all three home underdog teams covered the spread (Detroit, Oklahoma City, and Golden State). All three home underdogs cannot cover all night.

Here's a smart bet on the above paragraphs theory. Bet against Miami 1X amount of money (7:30PM game). If they win that's it. If not, then double down and bet against Portland on 2X amount of money (10:00PM game). Unfortunately, I cannot monitor the games in the office because of the strong firewall in the office computer.

Orlando's run had to end some time, Elaine.  Better to keep riding that train than trying to guess when the streak is going to end.  As luck would have it, the ride ended last night in Detroit.  I should probably just stay away from Pistons games - I can't get a handle on that team for the life of me.
 
With you on the Celts -4.5 (hope the half-point doesn't cost me).
 
Re: the Atlanta / Pacers line - at first glance, the line seems way off - as if the books are begging you to take ATL.   But upon closer consideration, there is a reason for the Pacers -1; namely that the Pacers have owned Atlanta in Indiana, having won the last 5 matchups by an average of 19 points.  I think Atlanta is due, though, so I'll take the bait - 1 unit on ATL +1.
 
My third wager will be on the Wizards +15.  Although it will be a  back-to-back road game for the Wizards, they are playing much better of late, losing a tough one at Cleveland on Christmas night, and winning their last two (including a tough road game last night at Houston).  While there is no doubt in my mind that the Hornets will win it outright, I'll take my chances with 15 points.

Thanks Send_It_In. That's a good play on the Wizards. New Orleans seems to look like pretenders without Peja on the lineup.
 
The Knicks are up 51-39 and seem to be shooting almost 70% in the first half. If the Knicks cover here, I think I will take them in the nexst two games as they seem to have gotten their shooting back. Not only that but it seems Quentin Richardson seems to be a factor with the Knicks against bad teams. And he's back. Plus Robinson is back. And a win against Charlotte should have them back up there in covering.

That's the thing with the Knicks, if their three-pointers are sinking then they cover no matter who they are playing against. They seem to be a streaky team.
 
I am now wary of Detroit or Indiana games. Remember Indiana also upset the Lakers a while ago. And Detroit seems to be split into different kinds of teams showing up since the Chauncey/Allen trade. You don't know if its the team with no chemistry that's going to show up or the one that seems to be a contender. Oh well.
 
Go NY Go NY Go ! At least for tonight. And of course Go Lucky Charms in Portland tonight. Celts go go go. For tonight only.
 
I am guessing since the Raptors went on a long road trip out west and did not do 50% on their games, that perhaps teh Celtics have a good chance as an East team to go at least 50% on their West coast road trip.

Thanks MsDeiMarie. I was looking for the Knicks to play a bad team that was at least a very poor shooting team in the NBA and getting points. And if the Knicks shots start sinking in, it may be a good bet. And the Knicks are a streaky team. If it goes in, their shots I mean...then in the next couple of their games it will be going in and perhaps ride them on their next couple of games.

Thanks Bobbydbebe and MsDeiMarie. It's hard but I find it better if you bet one game a day to be more profitable in the long run. I think. Than betting multiple games everyday. I wanted to bet two games today because my real play was the Boston Celtics at -4.5 on the road. But since there were two East teams on a long West road trip and the 1st one went below 50% on the ATS, the Raptors, then I was just betting on the other team going at least 50%. And it's the Celtics. I may be wrong but I just have that feeling they might do it. And as for the Knicks, I played them for the simple fact that their shots will eventually return.
 
To be honest I wanted either the Celtics or the Cavaliers tonight. Then I read it was Lebron James's birthday today and he was 0 wins and 3 losses on games he played on his birthday. Looks like he's looking to finish the game and party. And at the same time, Miami looked solid at Cleveland for a young team. And they're going to be pumped up at home against a Championship contender, with an added motivation to beat Lebron onhis birthday and not have him celebrate in Miami's court.

This is a perfect example of your patience being very helpful.  Look how much info and insight you have on this game. I think its a whole different perspective when you play only 1 or 2 plays a day or week.  Your percentage will stay high if you keep that up.  Plus sounds like you know whats up.  Lets keep this rolling.
