HERE IS AN EXAMPLE. IT IS 2012 and I am on the CELTICS. the streak has gone to an amazing 35-0.
 
We were up in the series 3-2, and now it has gone to GAME 7.
 
I am in my first GAME 7[irrelevant].
 
Someone tell me how Bird's 20 game 7 wins in the 1980's, and PIERCE's  15 game 7 victories in the 00's [which makes the streak 35lets say] HELPS ME?!?! how the fuck does that help me in 2012?? I swear I will suck someone off if they give me that fucking answer. If someone answers that question logically I will leave COVERS and I swear to fucking god. Otherwise. FUCK OFF!
 
now i know those 2 people werent the only people involved...lots and lots of players have made that streak possible.
 
i am waiting.........everyone talks talks talks then i ask someone to explain and it gets quieter than bean town after game 7 losses

The way I viewed the trend sammy was that the Celtics had that sense of pride about them.  It was their house and they were playing for that history.  Very few teams in sports have anything close to that impressive of a trend.  There have been several games in the past two postseasons where that alone helped them overcome some obstacles.  Obviously it's not the best trend to base everything on, but unfortunately a lot of the people in here conveniently forgot to mention the Magic being 4-14 ATS in the last 18 games in Boston, or 2-7 ATS in the last 9 road games, most of which were with the current rosters.

just because you WANT it more, doesn't mean anything. How many times do you see teams that are in MUST WIN situation, lose to a team that is playing for shits and giggles? The team who plays better will win, and just because you WANT IT MORE, or you want to keep the history alive, that has no bearing on how well you will play. While it was an impressive trend, it didnt mean the C's would play better, it just meant they might want to play better. Which doesnt mean much.

I'm past bashing. I just want a serious answer. Thanks for your answer CM , but like I said, just because they want to keep the history alive, does not mean they will. As was shown yesterday. Anything can happen in these games, just because a team wants to keep history alive [which has happened so manyyy times in sports], doesnt mean they will win.

I just threw it in there because it was a pretty damn impressive number.  I looked mostly at the home team's record in Game 7's, as well as the Magic recent history on the road

To tell you the truth it's a VERY IMPRESSIVE number. But I just don't see how those out-dated numbers would help RONDO pierce etc. play well in the game. Thanks. I want to see ice4blood's answer...at least you gave me one..

But you should take into consideration that the opposing team uses a trend like this as a motivating factor also...case in point after the game SVG had only one thing written on the whiteboard...32-1
