One month into the season, and i'm up +21 units in the NHL. And i'm looking to close out the MLB season with more than +45 units of profit. What does all that have to do with the NBA? Because i'll be employing the same system and fundamental handicapping tools that have brought me success in all arenas and venues in the sports universe. Yes, if there is a professional hop-scotch championship i'll find a way to handicap the game. Cycling, boxing, curling, NBL, badmington, golf, tennis, handball? - bring me a handicap/spread and i'll prognosticate. Of course, i'm going out on a limb there but i think you get the point.
Notice that my units for the NBA ranges from 1 to 10 units. No, i do not flat-bet. Flat-betting is for wussies & wannabies who don't have a handicapping regimen that can quantify the strengths of certain wagers. Although, my units levels do vary from sport to sport. I'm more cautious in the MLB because of the myriads of uncontrollable variables involved in that crap-shoot; whereas my units range from 1 to 3. I actually find the NBA and college hoops very easy to handicap. Less players to account for, no bullpens, no weather factor, no irreputable umpires, smaller bench rotation -- you get the idea.
And.. here we go!
Just 2 small plays today. One home fave, one road dog.
Too bad we will not get to see Blake in action right away. He pulled a 'Greg Oden' and will disappear for at least 6 weeks due to being over zealous in the final pre-season game.
The Blazers look frightening this season. They got 2 great international players (Rudy the Spanish stroker and Batoooom the French slasher) and a fledgling PG last year. And this year they got 2 great draftees. I loved watching Mills last year in college. They're getting better & better as expected. Oden is starting the season healthy. And then they added a $10 million dollar man, Andre Miller. This is a ridiculously good PG tandem. The Blazers have depth at EVERY position. Indeed, frightening.
Nonetheless, i'll take a McGrady/Yao-less Rockets team to not bet blown-out tonight. A pure system play.
110/100 LA Lakers -10 -110
110/100 Houston Rockets +9½ -110
GL & cheers!
