i know it sounds dumb, but that's half the battle..  You don't go up to the gym thinking that you're gonna lose, because if you go in there w/ that mentality you're going to lose..  Same thing w/ sports investing- you don't deposit money saying "ohh there goes 1k,"  because guess what, There it goes!! 

You go into it saying I'm gonna make money doing this & you pick your strategy & you stay consistent & disciplined & you make money-- sounds like too easy of a formula, but for real it all comes down to believing you can actually Beat the Books, if you don't think you can beat them then you prolly should just do what you did before & hang out around here & play for no money.

I think you're on to something betting against the public & keep doing your thing--  For real the last thing I want you to think from these posts is that I'm bashing you..  I'm really not, I'm just saying when someone says there gonna lose 1k or "we'll see how long that lasts"  your subconscious is telling you that you're going to lose & you're not even aware of it..  By speaking positivity & believing you can beat the books you really can & when you start to believe it that's some powerful sh**. 

It actually is pretty simple, all it took for me was a little mind shift & believing I could win before I started winning.

I'm curious about something. I know tons of people do it, but how can you actually bet money on a game where one of the pitchers has zero history to go by? Might as well flip a coin. Crappy Boston pitcher against one with a career total of 4 starts and a 1-1 record? I guess if somebody held a gun to my head, I'd side with the people who picked the over rather than gamble on a side. But that's just me. Personally, I wouldn't even want to take a chance on the over considering this:
LACKEY is 4-4 when starting against TORONTO with an ERA of 4.29 and a WHIP of 1.250.His team's record is 6-7 (-2.0 units) in these starts. The UNDER is 6-7. (-2.2 units)

Looks like even the over is no better than a 50-50 proposition. You could get lucky and win, but with this game any bet you make can't be anything but a guess. Best of luck if you play it but I wouldn't touch it even if somebody gave me the money to play it. I'd rather put the money in my pocket than put it on a toss-up. But like I always say...what do I know?

In my opinion, too many people worry about "the public"  all i see everyday is the public likes the cards, so we are all jumping on Cincy.  F the public. bet you think is going to win.  Sometimes the public is right, sometimes they are wrong.  might be the same as your own winning percentage. 

Boston Red Sox John Lackey is 1-3 in as many performances recently with a +6.00 ERA. One of those losses came at the bats of the Tribe

Jays bats have opposed Lackey twice this season giving up double digit runs & hits. Books have this line exactly where it should be in my view. With no illusion to the return the Red Sox are offering.

Bo Sox would be my play. However to those that are spooked by backing either the road or home clubs, a overs play would be a favorable high percentage play

Aside from the line movement...the Mets are just trash at this point. Not backable anymore. Santana is great and all...but Hammel isn't terrible. He's not nearly as good on the road as he is at home, but I think he can hold his own for sure. Then you lose K-Rod and you have a slim bullpen. Wright may not play due to rest so you might want to check that. He's not playing well anyway so it may be a good thing. Just a really nice line for the Rox. I'm just pissed I didn't choose to take them last night at the best line.

I'm with you Orange. I know 3 bookies who are life long friends and they all agree that baseball is the worst sport for them; implying the "public" gets it right more often than not. And for the record Sparky, Cliff Lee didn't lose that game last night the Rangers lost that game. My experience says you got to choose your spots, follow basic money management principles, and don't count on starting pitching to win games for you. Most times the better teams just win regardless of who is on the mound. Just my humble opinion
