Wow do you read? Read my post above where I clearly state that this game can't be fixed.
Your basically implying that no mlb games can't be influenced because of one assumption---baseball is too powerful and players are too rich to buyout. Then I ask you about the possibility of blackmailing and threats. What do you think about those possibilities. I'm just wondering thats all.
You're also talking like its impossible for mlb games to be influenced. Just like how so many people thought there was no way for the nba to be influenced.
Exactly.....People are very naiive to this stuff.....The only person to be in on it is Tim Donaghy is laughable....Players, Coaches, Refs, and others have been and will continue to influence NBA games.....Just watch and you will see.....Whether it is the coaches slowing down the games to hit the under or speeding the pace up to hit the over.....Games can be easily influenced

Well you said before that there is a good possibility of college sports being influenced by players being bought out. Most people know thats a given. Its one of those things you can state without being bashed as ludicrous and impossible.
Then theres the history to prove it. https://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/basketball/college/news/1998/03/27/gambling_sidebar/
^That article was posted in 1998. A good 10 years ago. A recent college point-shaving scandal I can recall is the West Virginia bball team. And those were the scandals that were actually unraveled. Think about all the ones that weren't.
Now taken all of that, go to the college sports section on this forum and ask every1 the same question---"why do you gamble on something that is fixed."

i would have to say, being a former college baseball player, that most players in professional sports play the games they play because they love them...even the thugs in the nba love the game of basketball....with the money that players make you would have to have such a huge amount of money to buy the player(S) ,because one will not do in most sports, that it would make it nearly impossible to buy a side in PRO sports....you have to understand that to pull this off you would need so many outlets to get down on the game and even then not im not sure you could get enough down to payout what you would need to be worth it...most casinos will not allow someone to get down on bets over say 40k or 50k (see The Smart Money by michael konik) and how many locals do you guys know take that kinda action?
ironmike you mentioned black mail...wouldnt it be easier just to extort the money dirrectly from the player than have him throw a game? agian if he was throwing it where would you place the bets? onilne books are not going to let you play for a million on credit and if you win big alot of them wont even pay out!
the reason the blacksox was able to be bought was because players didnt make enough then...now college athletes are a different matter...still difficult to pull off but less money is needed to buy them and therfore makes it possible..
dont really know why im saying all this other than pure boredom and amusement good luck guys

rube i never mentioned black mailing,i said you have a better chance of robbing a bank then threatining a pro athlete to fix a game and get away with it..if you read all the previous posts you will see that you and i are in complete agreement...i played baseball at rutgers..where did you play?..

kevin gregg doesnt need to be in on a fix..he knows how to blow it himself..the guy is not a closer despite the fact he is a hard thrower...harder they throw it the farther it goes

No talk of a fix please. You guys do realize Scott Olsen was starting right? It seems like whenever he starts, the team plays well or he pitches well and everything seems peachy, and then it all just collapses. The guy has bad luck swirling around him and hasn't lived up to his potential.
Also, Kevin Gregg is a homosexual.
Those 2 factors =
