Comment: No F5 line available this early and I expect the line to take a hit even before the F5 opens, so I will play the full game. That may not be a bad idea anyway, since the D-bax have shown a lot of “comeback kid” in the late innings. Getaway day for both and that is not a concern. The better starter/team at +$ is my choice.
Close to 8 A.M. in Chifartgo and no sac posting, so here it is.

mlb...com has a nice article on the A's 11 game winning streak. What I don't know, because I don't have time to read the full article, is if they point out a true anomaly, but I know these things because I track them. Did you know the A's started their season with 7 consecutive losses to right-handed starters, and during their comeback streak have beaten 7 consecutive right-handed starters? That probably constitutes some sort of record in itself. Baseball is full of surprises like that, which make it the ultimate "on any given day" sport. It is also highly indicative of why you can't handicap from stats that are just plain too old. Stats age and tend to incorrectly distort how a team is playing RIGHT NOW, the day you are thinking of betting them. Allowing April stats to influence September picks is ludicrous. jmho

Nice pick...that kid Widener can pitch, can't he? I'm impressed...struck out the side in the 5th.
And you're right about stats. They can lie like Trump sometimes, just not all the time. Gotta learn to tell when they're deceiving you and when they're not. So hard to do.
And yes, I agree, you need to start your own thread for us old farts on Covers.

Regarding stats: My program decreases the effectiveness of old stats. Recent performance takes precedence.
About my own thread: I started posting in sac's this year because we were bouncing back and forth so much between the two threads anyway. I thought it would be simpler for everyone. We'll see. "Old farts" are welcome either way, and why give the trolls two threads to attack?

Vs Houston, he has averaged a K for every 8 PA's. Too bad he hasn't faced them since 2017. Different delivery, better mechanics, different pitch usage. In other words, he's a pitcher they've never seen before.

I knew, from my limited knowledge, that your city has one of the highest crime rates in the country, but I had no idea there were also robberies of civilians, wont be easy reforming that system...

Look up car jackings in Chicago. Kids steal cars at gunpoint on a regular basis. And more often than not, they do it to "joy ride". Or to use it for other crimes.
I've seen a car plowed into a shoe store, so they can have new kicks.
One of my liquor stores still hasn't reopened since the last wave of George Floyd looting. A car was used to plow through a brick wall.

Before this game ends, one way or the other, allow me to say this is one of the big problems with FG vs. F5. Numerous pitchers, managerial changes, free for all action. When the starters turn the game over to the bullpens and managers your original handicap becomes moot.
