5. Astros 57 wins
1st year in A.L. and you have no pitcher who threw 200 innings LY and not 1 guy who hit 20 HR's LY. they will have the #1 pick for the 2nd straight year in June and 3rd #1 pick is coming. i do like the direction of this franchise. If i'm an astros fan i'd want to win opening day and go from there. Otherwise as Officer Barbrady said on South Park and i'd believe he'd say this about the Astros "Alright look-e-loos nothing to see here"
4. Mariners 77 wins
Well the fences have been moved in at Safeco as they bring in Ibanez,Bay,Morales and Morse to supply some power. I liked when Montero was catching because he's 1 of those guys who hits better when he plays a position. Though he won't be catching for long as Mike Zunino is on the fast track
We always talk about when King Felix would be traded well he gets a mega extension and i noticed he seems to be pitching more free/loose this year and i mean that in a good way. Paxton,Walker and Hultzen are coming along the $64,000 question is can this team hit consistently now the fences come in we'll find out
3. Rangers 87 wins
If i were the Rangers i'd put Profar at SS,Andrus at 2B and Kinsler at 1B. I'm done with Moreland. How may chances can you give this guy? all he has to do is hit 245-260 in the 7 spot with 25 HR's. Harrison,Darvish and 3question marks. Lost Young,Napoli,Adams,Hamilton and on and on. I think they'll be fine overall Hell play Mike Olt at 1B I hate moreland. Overall the Rangers will be imo ok
2. Athletics 89 wins
Last year in my A.L.West analysis i said Billy beane couldn't pick his nose without a computer. Billy Beane you win i'm done doubting Beane because he knows more about baseball than me. As a fan of baseball the A's and O's were awesome to watch last year. the A's had moneyball 2.0 going LY. I love what they did in the winter getting Lowrie,Nakajima,Jaso.
Billy beane promised at the end of the year payroll would go up for 2013. They added keyelement's 2nd favorite D-Backs OF Chris Young
. So Cespedes,Crisp,Reddick,Smith and young will be shuffled around the OF and DH spots. Maybe Outfielder's are the value in moneyball 2.0. I'm a tad concerned with the pitching due to the fact that Parker,Milone etc threw a lot of innings. But out of respect to my bff Billy Beane i will pick them to finish in 2nd place. i said it last year i'll say it again its time for the A's to get that new ballpark
1. Angels 90 wins
I'm picking the Angels more by default than anything else. I had a great winning streak betting angels games LY. Personally i'd rather See Trout in RF than LF. I'd put Hamilton in LF so he has less pressure because lord knows you have to baby Hamilton and put him in a protective cacoon. Who is the Real mark Trumbo? Early on he was hitting Trum-bombs and 2nd half of the year he was a shell of himself. Pujols is pulling everything anymore and putting more groundballs than ever. He's declining and he's in year 2 of the 10 yr deal![]()
Weaver,CJ Wilson,Vargas and question marks in the rotation. Tommy Hanson needs to get rid of the hesitation in his throwing motion. Hamilton is a pill and his wife needs to learn when to shut up. she annoyed me LY and she annoyed me with the gotta ring on it comment at Hamilton's press conference. Just shut up Mrs.Hamilton keep your husband from chewing ok?
I think Mike Scocsia is the problem in Anaheim. i didn't like him calling out pitches from the dugout. And i don't believe he and Dipoto get along. Don't be shocked if he gets fired. By default i'll go with the Angels
Final thoughts
Houston is added to the A.L.West so we have 6 divisions of 5 teams which means we'll have an interleague game every day. Houston picked a hell of a time to join as the rangers and angels have tv deals worth 3 billion each. the M's have a ton of young pitching and the A's always find away. This division imo comes down to who beats the Astros the most.
Tomorrow i preview the N.L.East. your thoughts?![]()
