I'm surprised to see you're not on the Mets tonight....seems like Zambrano has regressed this year while Pelfrey is actually performing above expectations.  As bad as the Mets are, they have the edge in bullpen as well.  The Cubs offense is anemic, and while the Mets' offense hasn't been performing much better, they might serve well with Ike Davis being inserted into the lineup.  Historically Zambrano hasn't had good numbers against NY, while Pelfrey threw well in his only outing against them last Sept.

Before anyone calls me a homer because they see I am from NY, this is coming from a Yankee fan.  Just seems like a good spot for the Mets at home with the slight edge in every category except manager...

Top of my head I join you on Detroit, Pitt and Cincy.
Texas loses 4 in a row, Boston loses 5 in a row. I'm a streak player but when two seem of equal value here as far as streaks go, I'll stay off betting against my home team - bad as they have been.
I 'll have to trust you on  KC
Gotta think about Chisox.  TB did everything right here in Boston.

If you caught any of the Diamondbacks - Dodgers game, you would understand how much Haren was laboring at the end. And his recent starts following such criteria did not look good at the end of last year.

Doesn't get any worse than Morton right now, all the signs of improvement are there but he can't get an out.

But this is where I think you'd look at AZ in 5 as we all know how horrible their pen is

how are all signs of improvement there for morton?  he's done nothing but pitch batting practice this year

GH: just an adendum to all the "Jays are the worst hitting team etc. with nobody much hitting above .200" talk that I've seen in your thread this year... and these are all valid points, certainly, so then how are they 2 games above .500?  Well, Pitching is a big reason, however, another reason their offense is being overlooked is the fact that - amidst all the batting average woes - their power numbers have been outstanding.  It may surprise people to hear that the Jays are leading the majors in home runs this year with 22.  

You chose to emphasise that KC had the distinction of being the team with the best hitting based on average.  My question for you is this, how much consideration do you give this power stat?

To clarify re: Jays O - "seen in your thread" does not imply YOU were saying it all lol... just reading a lot of negativity about the Jays bats in the forum as a whole.

Seriously, what the fuck is Dusty doing?  Brings in Masset w/a 4 run lead, bases empty, 1 out.  Masset gives up a single and double, any manager with half a brain would pull him here.  Masset gives up an RBI single, still Dusty keeps him in.  3 run HR, to tie the game, still Dusty keeps him in.  What a freakin joke.

Now, after a 2 out walk, he finally pulls Masset for Lincoln.  Why the hell was Masset brought in in the first place?  OK, maybe give him a shot and see if he's on, but he's gotta have a super short leash.  TBH, any decent manager would've just had Lincoln work the entire inning then get to your closer.
