NO, he can't pitch good in TX, and I don't know why people think he can. He can't pitch good in TX, so what, life goes on. He has a 7.33 career era their, that proves it.
Saying it over and over doesn't make it true
Also, dumb thread
I don't get what you guys are saying. If you don't beat the Rays...you DON'T face the Yankees OR Giants so THOSE series are irrelevant.
I'm sorry but anyone who thinks any team is better WITHOUT Cliff Lee is delusional. There is a reason why both Yankee and Ranger fans were praying to god that he would go/stay with their team. It's because he's one of the top 3 pitchers in all of baseball.
End...Of...Story

very true...just sounds like someone is bitter that his team couldn't resign cliff. for ex.. if the rangers were to have signed him, rangers fans wouldnt say oh we don't want him he can't pitch in our park...My Phillies are glad to have him!!!

Just like Osirus said about CC. His postseason numbers were horrible and then, in 2009, he turned it all around.
Just like Steve_Holt said...he had a 3.01 ERA over 9 starts in Arlington last season.
In 2008 and 2009, he went into Arlington and FACED the Rangers offense to get lit up. There's a difference between FACING the Rangers lineup and pitching WITH the Rangers lineup.
I don't exactly know why you keep throwing these career numbers out there. Who cares what he did from 2004-2007? Does it really matter than Mark Texiera had 7 RBIs against him in 2004? Or that Soriano had 4 RBIs in 2005. How about Marlon Byrd getting 5 RBIs against him in 2007? Does that really matter to you? It doesn't to me.
The point that is being made is that you claim that he pitched bad in Arlington based on his CAREER performance against the Rangers and completely look past his great numbers there in 2010. What about the point I made where he spared the bullpen when he went 8+ innings in 10 of his 20 overall starts (14 times he went at least 7)? Is that not important? What would his replacement have done? That's right...his replacement would have been the 5th starter as everyone else moves up.
What about the fact that the Rangers were 5-2 with him on the mound against a divisional opponent where he posted a 2.03 ERA. I'd love a pitcher who owns the Rays, Red Sox, Orioles and Jays in the Yankees' rotation.

And the way I see it is that Feldman or Harden (whoever would have pitched for him) would have won less.
