and behind a run with a runner on 2nd and no out that you should bunt him over. Fuck that shit that you play for the win at home. And yes i did have the Over in TX/MN!!

I heard this from Steve Phillips who understands the game from the inside and out...78% of games won are by who has the most homers...so they've forced pitching to come in lower and hitters struggle to hit anything..they don't practice bunting, these morons can't adjust their stance to swing against the shifts so the game is now completely useless..and even worse, once teams lose 3 or more in a row, the players get more tense and miss more balls...
Now the lines are still off like tonight with the Angels but last night down3-1, 1st and 2nd no outs in the 8th, they don't score, no sacrifice, nothing
Their line up is out of it, the Dodgers, Milwaukee, KC, forget the starting pitcher-just take the team that's winning

@Hoyasaxa
Watching Lindor trying to bunt today was unwatchable. nobody squares up or drags a bunt up the 1st base line to beat it out. let's see how many situations are blown bc batters are swinging for the fence

Bunting is a lost art no doubt. I don't understand it, especially late in the game or pitchers duels. You only need to win by 1. An opposing coach in high school once called me the "best bunter in the state," so you know how I feel about it.

the Angels did it all the time in 2002 or at least moved runners hitting to the right side..they caught the Giants in game 6 of the WS putting pressure on them until Spezio knocked one out..down 5-1, I was there...a truly beautiful moment in my life..
But we're here to gamble so ok you fucks, I get it, I'm all over the Rays tonight and the Angels TT under...clear momentum swings here and I am DONE WITH BEGGING for runs, I'm going to laugh to the bank, not cry to it and I will try to post frequently..

Rod Carew used to be paid to coach nothing but bunting in spring training, and the teams were glad to pay for it.
Anyone under 60 now can't tell you who Rod Carew was. Greatest bunter in history. He didn't do it just to get the runner over, HE EXPECTED TO BE SAFE HIMSELF.

The bunt -- like to add -- pressure put on the defense, with a ball in play -- a fielder eating it, bad throw, we all have seen it happen...

In an extremely rare moment, Lindor finally gets some wood on a ball. Worth every penny of that 34 million a year he gets. Currently 50 points below the Mendoza line.

@KeyElement.
agree-sad to see small ball dying and teams struggling to score even with a runner on 2nd with no outs in extras; I'm a younger guy-only 49 but I remember Rod Carew-more his days with the Halos though rather than the Twins---legend!

Lmao
Senior year in HS. Down 8-7 bottom 7 (7 inning games). My coach is the 3rd base coach. 1st and 2nd no outs, he calls the bunt on while I’m up. (I batted 2nd). I stepped out of box. He called it again, I made a face and stepped out of box. First pitch from this kid Slootmaker, hanging curve, nailed it over left field fence. Walk off... Won 10-8. Went 5/5 in that game. I never saw the bunt sign again. I batted .617 that season. Was awesome never forget it. It’s online if my name and HS was searched but I’m not giving it out lol

@aaironworks
So it's people like you who caused the demise of the "bunt" which was my best friend, other than my glove, in baseball. Shame on you!
