Decent article except for a couple of minor issues. The Twins just did have a day off yesterday so they shouldnt be terribly overworked. Crain is not valuable out of their bullpen. When he pitches the Twins usually lose.
I think I agree that the Yanks have quite an advantage tomorrow night but I also think -285 is ridiculous against a hot team.
At least you read everything.
Yes...they had a day off...but after playing 12 innings of such an emotional game, they should have a letdown. I don't see something like the Rockies of 2007 here. Every single inning was gut wrenching at some point.
OK...so Crain is not valuable. He used to be. Anyway...Mijares has not been reliable. He walked Granderson when he was summoned to faced him in a lefty/lefty matchup right? And he's been blowing games left and right lately. And I think the Yanks lit him up earlier in the seaosn if I'm not mistaken. Rauch is a National League guy too. He has a low ERA but he's given up tons of inherited runners. You shouldn't have 5 wins as a reliever when you were with a team for less than a month...espeically when he came in with the lead and not a tie.
And I want to make this known right now...
I AM NOT BETTING ON A SINGLE YANKEES GAME THIS POSTSEASON.

haven't yanks lost last 3 divisional series ??? with all those experienced playoff guy on the team, Tex, Burnett don't have much playoff experience as far as I know, also lost to indians & Tigers, Tiger series not one person gave them a chance, probably less so than anyone giving twins a chance.
that said yanks do own the twinkies & i dont see how twins have the starting pitching, guys they got yanks should easily hit, but have seen stranger things, i will not be on yanks -240 or whatever crazy price for games or series, just not smart betting to do that

Twins 17 - 4 their last 21 games. They have nothing to lose, riding crazy momentum. Do you really think Twins are just going to lay belly up for the Yanks. Yanks will more thank likely win this series. But it will be close. Huge chalk against a red hot team.
17-4
1 win v Oakland
3 wins v Cleveland
5 wins v Choking Detroit (And they lost 3)
3 wins v Chi.Sox (Before Ozzie's motivating rant but the only impressive wins they had).
5 wins v Royals
Come on...none of those teams have the talent that the Yankees have. Not even close.

bottom line, Yanks take this series going away....and the line tomorrow is set that way for a reason...on paper (considering all the circumstances)....its one of the biggest mismatches of alltime

We will have to agree to disagree on this then because I have personally watched NYY games where these guys were just going through the motions much like LAD did down the stretch. I have no idea their motivations nor do I. That is crazy talk. The bottom line is that lay -300 on any game is crazy. But again BOL with your plays just try to take a step back and think this through a little bit. If you bet every NYY game at -300 one loss = have to win three games to make up. That kinda hurts. We have seen countless times anything can happen in baseball.
With that said, I do think NYY wins the series but I really hope I am wrong. BOL!
Like I said...I'm not taking the Yankees because I don't want to have them possibly lose a game then I get cleaned out and be pissed because they lose. I would only take them on the runline though. I'm a jynx machine of late when I put a bet in so I've put a stop to gambling all together for a while. Just going to watch these playoffs as a fan as the matchups are just great. The Twins v Yankees matchup is probably the most boring of them all but because the Yanks are in there, it's the best for me. And I'm going to Game 1 and 2 so thats good enough for me.

How can you compare past seasons to this team? Sabathia, Burnett, Tex and Swisher have boosted this season. Hughes and Joba are in the bullpen. Tex is in the running for MVP. How can he not make a difference. I think he had a great series in the postseason last year but don't quote me on that. This is an entirely different team than years past. They are looser. They have more depth. And they are just better than in recent years. They are never out of a game. The last time they had a team like that...it was 1998. I'm just saying.

and you are not betting because you are ice cold, and you know you will bet the rl on the yanks , and you feel you will jinx it.
but in the end, what we do, really doesnt matter
I'm also not betting because I'm going to the game and if they happen to lose, It'll be a long drive home. I'm just staying away from gambling all together. Just look at what I wrote in post #35.

Well your right, those teams don't have the talent the Yankees do, I'll give you that. But, this is why they play the games, and Minnesota does have the best player in the American League in Joe Mauer. Should be fun. No way in hell I'm laying chalk on the yankees though.

I thought every work was spot on.
I simply see the Yanks sweeping. I'm not buying into the momentum the Twins are bringing in to this series.

Good luck, Sparky...Hope we see you guys next week.
It would be very good for baseball. If the Sox make it to the next round, I certainly wouldn't have as much faith as I do now. If they get past the Angels, that probably means Lester and Beckett are on and that is scary...I won't lie. I never totall feel confident against the Sox, but I think it would be a GREAT series.

They may have the best player in the AL, but the Yanks have 3 players that would be in contention for the AL MVP if Mauer wasn't around(Tex, Jeter and A-Rod). They also have another guy with 200+ hits in Cano. Thats scary too.

Not true. The world will be on the Yankees' runline in each game and they'll probably take them for the series too along with parlaying the ML in a bunch of things. You know it's true...I would too if I was betting. The Yanks "should" not lose a single game in this series. We'll see...but I think that finally they will get to the 2nd round and leave the Cowboys as the only team who can't get out of their first round.
