I hear ya bro and I know it sounds square. I just have a feeling neither of these games are going to be close at all, so at even money I'll take my chances with the home teams vs poor competion....the bookmakers arent always able to avoid giving out decent opportunities....dogs dont always come through....had Washington lost yesterday and not had to travel to florida then I wouldnt play this game...

Sure, why not?  I wouldn't be all that surprised.  Somebody grab a calculator to figure out the crazy payoff.

That's just my point.  Obviously the oddsmakers can't control what winds up happening on the playing field, but they can control the payoff you're going to get if your teams win, and when it comes to betting on teams like the Yankees and betting against teams like the Nationals, they're going to make SURE you get a poor return on your betting dollar.

I think the Yanks win this game 75% of the time and the Marlins 65%.....so to get both of them to win at 1-1 isnt the best value, but that doesnt mean there isnt some value imo....

Nats at 2-1 isnt value imo....3-1 maybe...

O's at 2.75-1 is almost decent.....except the are on the road vs a very hot squad....

Of course, he's no Cy Young, but so far he's kept his team in the game. Out of his 5 starts this season, he's completed 3 quality outings against the Cubs, Marlins & Brewers, a 6IP-7H-4R-8SO-2W game to the Cubs, and a terrible loss to Arizona. If you take away that awful start against the DBacks (1.2IP, 10H, 6ER), the dude's got a 3.38 ERA in 4 starts this season (I know, it's a very small sample, but still a sample).

I guess what I'm trying to say is, that at +210, he sure looks like The Little Pitcher That Could...

Another thing is that I believe the Mutts will start playing the way they should've played the last two-three weeks of 2007 and 2008. With all the pressure gone, and a few young talented guys trying to make a name for themselves, combined with a few other vets that are coming throuh as of late, this mets lineup looks sparky. Besides, I believe the Phils have been the most inconsistent home team contending for a division title. I think they will mimmick the Mets of '07 & '08, and probably even miss the playoffs...

I got them at +210, and the most I've seen is +220... don't know what book you use, but most have it in the low 200s

matchbook still has it for 250, can pretty much get as much as u want for 248 tho. 220 is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy off
