it amazes me how the mets are the lowest odds in the NL.. the team didn't do anything to improve that massacre that happened at the end of the season and all their old "los mets" players are another year older

Shhhhhh on Toronto, definitely worth a long look for a big dog. I'll prob put some on Cleveland and Boston too.
I hate people who just hype their home team based on pure hope but in all seriousness:
* Highest ERA of the 5 starters that finished the season was 4.13 (in the power packed AL East mind you). 3 of these starters had less than 2 years ML experience.
* I believe they had the number 2 or 3 bullpen in baseball behind the Red Sox and it was neck and neck with the Padres. Oh, add to that one B.J. Ryan who missed basically the entire season. Should return around May/June.
* The offence was severely decimated by injuries in 2007. -- Reed Johnson, Vernon Wells, Troy Glaus, Greg Zaun, Lyle Overbay -- remember this was the same offence that just crushed opposing pitching in 2006. My #1 worry is Troy Glaus. The guy is a walking injury and the Jays have absolutely nobody to replace him should he go down for an extended period.
Definitely worth a shot at 33:1

Go ASTROS! On paper and I know that doesn't win you anything but they have the best line-up by far in the NL. The pitching in the bull-pin is as very good with one of the best closers in the game and solid set-up guys. The starting pitchers are a bit of a question mark, but if the Wizard pitches at the Cy Young caliber he has been and a couple others step up the could run away with a weak division. The odds are very much worth taking a chance on them.

Exactly, the injuries to the bats killed em last year and wasted excellent pitching. All those pitchers will be back and League and Ryan will be fully healthy for the bullpen (both missed almost all of last year) so their bullpen will actually be better. The starters should be dynamite again and if the bats could hit like they did they year before this team could win over 95 games and I'm not even kidding.

Anyone betting Toronto to do mroe than break the .500 mark should have their head examined. Yeah yeah, their pitchers had a good year last year but was that an average year for them or was it better than normal? Odds are it was better than normal.
The offense blew ass, the year before they were amazing but once again, which year was mroe likely the average? Odds are teh average for the offense is somewhere in between the two years.
So many Blue Jay lovers like to say "injuries were a huge factor this past year". How the fuck can they claim that? BJ Ryan goes down, Jeremy Accardo comes in and performs amazingly. Half the rotation stinks, the replacements do wonders. Reed Johnson stunk, Matt Stairs stepped it up, Royce Clayton stunk, John McDonald had a career year.
Bottom line, this team is not a contender no matter how you stretch it. They were awful last year. They'll be even worse this year.

I agree. Zona looks great at that price. However, consider that the Rockies, Dodgers, and Padres r all similar, and u see that Zona is in the best division in the NL by far. They may not even make the playoffs, as crazy as that seems (I mean they did make it last year and upgraded).

why has everyone suddenly given up on the tigers because of one letdown season that was marked by immense injury to many of their power hitters in their lineup......and a bullpen that was not healthy at any point in the season. already made a couple acquisitions so far in the offseason and i think they could be a contender this year

Toronto will be improved this year if they manage to stay on the field and off the dl. Problem as usual is the beasts of the east, I find it hard to believe they are better than either of the yanks or sox, best case maybe they beat one of the two and with the central looking as good as it does even making playoffs as a wc is a lognshot. It would be great to see but jays would need alot to go right

If the Tigers can keep their pitching staff healthy, they should be a force. The offense does not scare me with them, the pitching is going to be the concern. If that holds up then they should be able to bring home the hardware.
