going to have a tough time finding someone to give you information like that here.

Giving away tips only reduces your payouts as you have to share if you both hit on the same ticket.

Anywho, I'm not even that qualified to give advice, but I'd say the best information that you can find here is tips on single races. I don't think anyone here is really going to help you any better than you can do yourself on this one.

If I were you I'd just realize that to hit a pick 5 or pick 6 it is going to take some nice investment

as 1,2,3, with 1,2,3 with 2,1 with all with 6 with 6,5,4,3 is an expensive ticket and probably the best way for your to hit anything.

I'll just conclude that it doesn't hurt to sometimes just go to have a fun time and play your favorite numbers, remember 7 to 1, 10 to 1, and even 15 to 1 horses win a good amount of races. Can't be afraid to scratch off that favorite and hope he is a dud, which many times I have seen that the horse is.

Horse racing is a tough game.  I&#39;m no pro and I know that there is so much more I could know.  Following certain tracks.  Trainers.  Jockeys.  Owners.  Is a good place to start, but it can take a lot of time.  I&#39;ve really tried to stop wagering a lot to win a little, some of the best advice I&#39;ve gotten on this forum.  You will learn a lot being a silent observere, just remember this is about the long run.  But I kmow when u do have questions there are some smart horseplayers here that can help

Yea I glance on here when I watch the races. Appreciate the advice. So betting 200 on 3/1 shot and winning wont be a daily accordance for me?

I believe that horse racing is similar to many other forms of gambling in that it takes patience and bankroll management. Even at my lower levels of knowledge at this game, there are races that I find myself handicapping spot on. Now this does not mean there are some races I think I have a good feeling on and am way off, but there are some races that I have no clue and should not really wager on at all (I still do which is probably what makes me more of a losing player).

Anyway I find I have the best results when I keep my wagers small and my daily loss limits at a minimum. You can get carried away trying to hit those huge payouts.

Example being today I probably wasted 20 dollars trying to hit a trifecta. I chose a 9/1 over the 3/2 I think in SA race 5, and hit a 2 dollar exacta cold for 80 bucks. Can I ever win 44k in a super this way no, however, I could have taken the twenty I lost in tris and risked more in my exacta or even at the 9/1 to win. In the long run I think that is the winning strategy or at least break even strategy.

Conclusion this game is tough, but way to fun to not play.

Mukuni, when u have a 9-1 shot, I would hit the exacta many times. As a saver bet, put him in 3rd, with ur best 2-4 horses on top (if field size is 9+). DD's are also great, when u start with a 9-1 shot in the first leg!

Hoffman Horizontal bets like the P4 and P5, are losing propositions for the average player....and even some very good players! When ur 12-1 shot wins, and favorites come in all around it, and ur looking at a few hundred bucks...u should feel robbed!

Stick to the vertical bets, like exactas and trifectas. You can lose the first 8 races...woefully...but u hit just one, GOOD...and u win all ur money back, and then some...if u r playing them right, which gives u a chance at a score! BOL!

The key is to stay true to your bets/styles and bankroll. I have the lesson of all lessons:

Few years ago, there was a turf race at Colonial. I was betting my .10 supers like always. Found a 9-1 shot I liked, another longshot, and best of all- - didn't like the heavy favorite (in a full field of 12)!! Well, my "style" is something like A / B, C, D / all / B, C, D. (sometimes, i play all in the 4th spot instead of the 3rd) As I'm at the machine, I hear some guy talking about how the favorite dropped even lower. Obviously, as a bettor that started nagging at me, so I threw him into the bet.

So my bet ended up like: A / B, C, D / B, C, E / all. It finished like: A - B - D - And what's worse it that the odds were (roughly)

9/1 >> 20/1 >> 40/1 >> E

The 3rd and 4th place were determined by a photo, which of course I lost. Frankly, the .10 super paid an ALL....for $2200 a pop. And if my ticket had cost me $3, that would've equated to 30 payouts!!! Sure, I've lost best where the wheeled horses and the All were swapped, but (atleast) that was in my hands. Not getting up to the window, or second-guessing. I still have that ticket, along with the print out of the results....as my biggest defeat of nearly $40K. Like I said, stick to your guns and if you have doubts or last minute gut feelings - - just try not to get shut out!
