Verrazano will be up front throughout and crap out to show. I really like:
itsmyluckyday, but his jockey sucks bad. its like he didn;t even see orb coming past 'em in florida
java's war has a nice, nice kick.
in a sloppy race, the alternate FearTheKitten showed a nice gap close in past slopfest. But he's reallllly slow!
Overanalyze does not look like he will tire.
Charming kitten is always on the outside lookin' in with nice holding speed. always finishes near front.
PICKS:
9,19/9,12,14-15,19/9,12,14-15,19 TRI:$3/72
9,14-15,19 BOX EX$5/60 9,19 WIN$25/50 15 SHOW$25
TOTAL:$207
I PICK 3 HORSES EACH YEAR TO COME IN TOP 3. LAST 4 YEARS I HAVE CALLED 2/3!!!!
Overanalyze for me has pedigree worries. HOw often does a 6f winner have enough stamina for the Derby? Interesting question surely? The time when beating Frac Daddy wasn't that great.
Lot of love for Normandy Invasion on the forum but crucial question: Can he produce his Aqueduct form here? HAsn't impressed at Fairgrounds or Belmont and evidence suggest he's a course specialist at Aqueduct. Has to prove the suitability of the course and will need lots of luck in running from a hold up ride with his inside draw.
Lot of love for Revolutionary too! Problem is his inside draw forces the horse into traffic. Previously looked to shy away from going through tight gaps. Quirky for sure but not for me in a 20 runner field!

Have ORb, Itsmyluckyday and Frac Daddy as EW singles but looking for trifecta/superfecta play. Just peanuts but going to have a go! When in Rome, do as Romans do....!
Orb, Itsmyluckyday, Goldencents and Vyjack my choice. Best of luck. Cracking day of racing. Looking forward to Wise Dan and there's action in the UK with the first classic of the season: 2000 Guineas over a mile.
Best of luck!

cheers. Small profit but loved the build up! Only in America :D Golden Soul outran his odds and proved there may well be merit in the Raise a Native sire line. Orb looks a live Triple Crown threat and can't see any one reversing form in the Preakness or Belmont from this race.
However, was taken aback by the sheer force of the rain that turned the track to sloppy. Just thankful ORb handled it well. The suicidal pace helped for sure and was surprised Palace Malice took it up so early and even more surprised Normandy Invasion got involved in the pace duel!
What we learned:
-Beyer rating irrelevant unless achieved over Derby trip. -Perfect prep profile (3 runs in same calendar year before Derby) and versatility in running at tracking the pace or held up a big plus -Raise a Native sire line relevant here. Don't ask me why! I've done breeding analysis for the Grand National and there is merit in following certain bloodlines
Roll on 2014! Won't be around too much but certainly be back for the Breeders Cup and beforehand the Canadian International meeting. Japanese horse-racing (Orfevre, Goldship, Gentildonna, Logotype) and of course, top class racing in Europe will hopefully gives plenty of clues in the build up for the Breeders. Dawn Approach the first Classic winner of the season. Goes for the Derby next. Not sure he'll stay but if he does, :o unlikely to take his chance in the States, not with the more prestigious Arc or Champion Stakes as end of season targets.
Europe's top middle distance horse is likely Camelot, Pastorius and Novellist and all three are well worth keeping an eye on as well as top older fillies Snow Fairy, Testerone, Ridaisiyna and Giofra (especially over 12f). HAve a great summer! GL
