Funny, but that is what Islamic extremists think as well. No room to question....no room for any interpretation. Black and white. Good and bad.
I had a friend who says she is born again. Her and her boyfriend engaged in pre-marital sex and conceived a child. They called it a gift from God. Possibly, but why would God give them this sort of gift for engaging in sinning type behavior? She used to lecture me for my pre-marital sexual behavior and now she tells me that their child that was conceived in pre-marital fashion is now a gift of God?
Why doe God get credit for all that is good in the world (ie. you being able to get through your difficult time with the death of a family member), but shoulders none of the blame when something negative happens. So it's God's grace if a person is able to overcome their alcoholohism to lead a normal life....but it's the person's fault if they aren't strong enough to overcome this affliction? Please explain this to me.
I have no problem at all with religion. What I have a problem with is people who form it and shape it into what fits their own lives.
I personally have seen a born again individual flat out steal from another person (they justified it through a bunch of semantics and B.S., but it was still lying/stealing). I, myself, will return a $20 bill to a store if I found it in the parking lot....because I think it's the right thing to do. So this other person gets a pass because they ask God for forgiveness? I just am not buying it. If worshipping to a god gives someone strength, then I'm all for it. But to start telling other people that they are doomed if they do not follow suit is flat wrong. How could a God such as you describe possibly think that scaring someone into worshipping them is the right thing to do?
What about the Eskimo people? Never even exposed to Christianity. Does that mean that they are doomed forever? Many don't even have a knowledge of what being born again means....how can they be accountable for not knowing such a thing???

Captain Lock-
So it's "that way or the highway?", huh?

once again just because a person say they're born again doesn't mean they really are, and it doesn't mean they will never sin again, it makes perfect sense to me that it all began with Adam and Eve instead of some Big Bang BS, once Adam and Eve disobeyed God and listened to the LIE of Satan that condemned everyone, so everyone is a sinner, you can thank Adam and Eve for that, so once again it makes perfect sense that God had to send his Son to die and pay our sin debt in full for those who chose to believe in Christ, you can reason all you want, but its the only way a person gets to Heaven thru what Jesus did at the cross, i'm sure God holds people acceptable for what they know, etc. God knows about the guy in Africa that was mentioned as much as he knows about the other example mentioned, but in this day and age, the gospel "the Good News" can be heard almost everywhere int he World, which is also a sign that we are in the latter days as mentioned in the Bible, so more and more people are being givin an opportunity to seek the truth. someone above said something about provable evidence, i have read and exp. enough evidence, besides i have Faith, i don't need to see what most people need to believe, and the Bible instruts those who believe to share the Gospel and reach the Lost, and if you don't think this world is Lost, you're fulling yourself again, i listen everyday to all these problems people have and the only Cure isn't Dr. Phil or any earthly BS, the answer is Jesus Christ, you may disagree but you can never say you were not told, think about it, since Christ is the only way to Heaven and if you don't try to help others than you're in essense cotributing to their eternal damnation, i try to give some insight, but if a prson isn't going to be honest and listen with their heart than i can't help you understand any better, i'am sinner, the Bible says we all fall short of the Glory of God, thats why we all need Christ, and like i said before if you really study the Bible and learn God's Ways there is nothing to agrue about, maybe some of you need to give it a try, or get with someone who knows what he/she is talking about, if you wanna get a good start look and watch Charles Stanleys program, he is great and doesn't BS people, he tells it like it is, i'm not trying to please anyone, i'm trying to please the Lord, i do care about everyone including people i don't know because i have been shown Gods Love and its a pity that not everyone can recieve such a free Gift1

i have to say, this is a great quote from you and really the only thing that anyone needs to read in your post.
but, against my better judgment, here is the only reference in your post i saw that addresses my example and i want to follow up with my question:
God knows about the guy in Africa that was mentioned as much as he knows about the other example mentioned, but in this day and age, the gospel "the Good News" can be heard almost everywhere int he World,
so, is my guy in Africa shit out of luck if the gospel doesn't get to him (some places in Africa are pretty tough to reach, you know) while the mass murderer is looking good because he found Jesus? where are we on that question?

As a non practicing Christian, I find it hard to understand why there are so many Atheists driven to disprove the legitimacy of Christianity, is it so hard to believe that there are some things in this world that cant be explained and defined outside of science and pragmatism?
Evolution has brought us a long way in understanding the world around us but there are just some questions science cant answer, which is why religion exists to provide enlightenment and truth for impossible questions.
With all the different religions out there, hinduism, buddhism, Judaism etc... I have the biggest problem with understanding the nonbelief of Atheists, everyone needs to believe in something outside of what you can see or hear ie. just look at all the dillusional Eagles fans...If there is no religion, where does the whole concept of good and evil come from? Did mankind just think up some moral barometer for what is right and wrong one day, that murder and rape is wrong, giving to the the under privileged is good etc... religion is that moral barometer...just my 2 cents

why do you insist on telling people what they need to believe in? the extremist muslim says you need to have your head chopped off because the koran says you are an infidel? many of them seem to be pretty adamant about that too.
both of you seem to want to project your ideas onto others. how do i know which one of you is correct?
