As I said before just because someone has dark skin, and may look black to the uninformed, it does not mean they are of african descent. Latinos also can have dark skin.

And the population of blacks in the United States is 12.4%.  Far less than many countries in Latin American.  So, please finally realize you have been owned.

Henry, you are correct in saying that Tori's argument is invalid for that reason.

But you still showed you don't know what you're talking about in terms of those countries and actual African ancestry.

After making those false claims I wouldn't be claiming OWNAGE of anyone or anything.

I am Brazilian and I know what I am talking about,  Brazil has a much larger Black population than the United States.  Last time I checked Brazil was in Latin America.

Brazil experienced a long internal struggle over abolition of slavery and was the last Latin American country to adopt it. In 1850 it finally banned the importation of new slaves from overseas, after two decades since the first official attempts to outlaw the human traffic (in spite of illegal parties of African slaves that kept arriving till 1855). In 1864 Brazil emancipated the slaves, and on September 28, 1871, the Brazilian Congress approved the Rio Branco Law of Free Birth, which conditionally freed the children of slaves born from that day on. In 1887 army officers refused to order their troops to hunt runaway slaves, and in 1888 the Senate passed a law establishing immediate, unqualified emancipation. You are embarrassing yourself with your lack of education and ignorance.  I claimed you can find blacks in droves in Latin America and then proved that in many countries the population is double the percentage of the U.S..  What of that do you not understand?  Are you stupid or is it that you just can't stand being wrong... or both?

Hunter's comments were taken out of context, if you read the USA Today article.  The article was about African-Americans in MLB.  Hunter said that a lot of people thought that players like Vlad Guerrero were African-American, so they didn't realize how few African Americans there were in MLB.  He said they were imposters because they have dark skin but are from the Dominican and not the US. 

From memory, the main points of the article were that

1)  MLB spends tens of millions every year scouting South and Central America for athletes and building baseball academies, but almost nothing in the inner cities.

2)  Colleges only give 11 scholarships for baseball.  He thought MLB could give some money to colleges to have more scholarships so more people who wanted to get out of the inner city could use baseball as a way out.

3)  Many scouts (white and black) are afraid to go the inner city to scout for fear of violence.

A black baseball player is Hunter or Ken Griffey Jr

Ethnicity and race are two different things.  Black is an ethnic group not a race.

Ill be a little racist here advocating against Tori Hunter and kinda maybe make a point that african american black people are not that good at hitting a baseball.  Here is why:

Baseball season doesn't go up against Football or Basketball it is a spring sport.  Not like the guys in the NBA or NFL were Jim Browns and played Lacrosse, inner city black kids play organized baseball. IF a kid can hit and hes a goood enough natural athelete to play D1 football or hoop hes gonna get drafted and have a shot at instant money out of high school.  You fucking kidding, you think someone who can run a 4.40 40 and is a great natural hitter is not going to get drafted or get on scouts radars given the fact that in the USA EACH MLB ORGANIZATION EMPLOYS ALMOST AS MANY PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL PLAYERS FROM ROOKIE THROUGH THE MAJORS AS ARE IN THE ENTIRE NBA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Now pro football/hoop is a relatively new thing.  Baseball was NOT Jackie Robinson's best sport.  If he had been born later hed have stuck to football probably which he was all world at at UCLA so yes, these type of black atheletes don't play baseball.  But it is not like the doors to the game are shut to them at all. 

 

So yeah, in the past you had the LeBron James's of the world playing baseball as there wasn't any pro hoop leagues and that has changed, but those types of guys dont cut it in the modern baseball game noone makes it by legging out grounders this day in age.

Not only racist, but mildly retarded...(sorry to my autistic brethren)

Basically, Torii Hunter was saying that its not an accident that #'s of African-Americans in MLB are wayyyyyy down.

But he did used a bad choice of words concerning Big Poppy/ManRam etc...

Torii sounds exactly like the frustrated American worker being supplanted by cheap labor.
