My father has Townhouse their in the 80's he'd rent to college and law students at UVA ...
 
I'd like to move to San Diego  one day ..
 
How is Coral Gables these days -I went to UM from 1988-90 and it was fine ..

live in pembroke pines about 5 min from  where this happened.  my mom says shes movin up to  vero beach soon,  cant live in a place where english is the second language in many areas, plus broward  county in the  last 10 years has gotten out of hand as far as growth its unreal.

Plenty of room up here in New Hampshire.  Town I live in is actually one of the highest drug trafficking towns in the country...but other than that there is nothing.  Some dude got stabbed with a sword cuz he was boning his friends wife.  That's about it though.   Oh yeah, and NO SALES TAX!!

no state income tax in Florida either. No way I could move to Vegas...4-5 days is all I can handle

My family is moving to Naples in the next 2 years before my youngest starts 1st grade. There is a an up and coming city. Its very white. Sure some mexicans most are workers. Sure some ethnicity. Mostly a small town. Cops dont put up with ANYTHING.
 
Safe, clean and people are very normal and friendly.

This thread brings back memories.
 
I grew up in sunrise on nob hill road and sunset strip.  I remember going to the fort lauderdale beach all the time.  Had the best of times.  Now I'm in Las Vegas (been about 4 years) which I like in its own way, but their ain't nothing like smoking a bowl with your windows down,  driving up and down the beach strip watching all the honeys and looking at the views and the green.

Sarasota, was there in 06 looks great to me, loved the place.
I have 2 friends that live there, no complaints.

Been down here for 20 years now. Cooper city is shit, don't let this scare you. The weather is unbeatable, best in the country by far. Fort Lauderdale was the best place I have lived in, great beaches and great night life, cool people, hip and young. Boca Raton is nice, safe but boring, many old people and 40%+ of the population is jewish. I lived in Vegas for a year and I would never go back. I think way more crime there. If you can deal with all the old people and illegal immigrants and shitty drivers, south florida is the best. Naples would also bore me to tears as would all of west florida save Tampa. Last one out bring the flag though, they have been saying this for over twenty years here when people want to leave, go to Deerfield beach and all you hear spoken now on the beach is portuguese and spanish, a little unsettling I admit but at least I speak both somewhat. Nearly 70% of Miami's population is foreign born. Miami is basically a foreign country.

Born and raised there. Moved away in Jan of 2006(joined the Marines, but still visit 2-3 times a year) Any questions about Sarasota, hit me up. You can't beat Siesta Key.

There are many quality places on the West Coast of Florida that I would love to live.  Went to the University of Tampa for a couple years and absolutely loved the area.  Obviously some crappy parts, but there are some great areas around Tampa/St.Pete. 

I'm actually considering switching jobs and moving to Stonington, CT...about 10 minutes away from Foxwoods.  Could be rough though, as the apartments there are just as expensive as they are here.  Dammit.  Anyone from around that area that knows of anywhere relatively cheap?  Problem could be living 10 minutes away from Foxwoods...could be broke in less than a week.

If you can live near Miami then you can handle Houston.

It has good fishing, less crime, same heat and humidity, cheap stable housing, traffic is a lot better now and anything and everything you would want to eat, see, buy or do.

I think you would be pleasantly surprised.

I'm actually sick of Austin (aka LA East) and about to go back home to Houston, that says a lot about those two cities.

Ohh yea Houston has a ton of jobs, oil and gas, financial, manufacturing, real estate, technology ect..

I'm an Architect and am strongly considering moving home because of the stable Real Estate market.
