Hahaha, I had a good laugh reading this. Although I don´s agree on everything some of the things you wrote are spot on.

I currently live in Stockholm and have lived in both Malmö and Luleå (far north). The part about immigrants and Malmö is true and unfortunately breeds alot of racism.

The worst part about living here is that absolutely noone cares about american football which happens to be my favourite sport. Played a short period of time when I was younger and have followed both the NFL and College since then. I have to visit the states and go to a game sometime. I must be one of the few swedes who hasn´t been to New York.

Anyway, it was a good read! As a proud Swede I hope to read more of your impressions and will gladly answer any questions you might have.

Awesome thread - really good read - I love stuff like this.

The only time I was overseas was in November 1995 - I spent almost the entire month in England on a extended vacation.

Alaska a few weeks ago was my best vacation ever.

Time to head to another northern destination and see if Alaska can be topped.

Anyone ever been to a Finnish sauna?

Hey, Race.   Thanks for stopping by.  I'm sure you can appreciate how difficult it is to craft a picture of 9 million people and a country the size of California in a few paragraphs.  Even as I wrote this, I could think of exceptions to the "rules" I was laying down.  Still, I tried to be fair.  If you think there's any place I totally missed the mark, or just some stuff you'd like to add, please feel free. 

By way of full disclosure, I know very little of southern Sweden.  Doubt I've ever been south of Sodormalm.  That's kind of a big gap, considering like half the population of the country must live there.  Still, I have met relatives from Norrkopping, Linkopping and Huskvarna, and they don't seem too different (though they all grew up in Dalarna).  My wife's family pretty much writes-off anyone from from south of Stockholm as "Danes" ("...med sina vita hus") .

Alaska

Would be hard to live there year round because it's a rain forest, but the scenery and wildlife is beyond belief.
