dhop- I'm a bad example since I have no regular hours and up all night during FB/BB- but, this just reminded me to go run and take a break. Days I run are always way easier to get to sleep.
Also, I drink so much caffeine (this new diet dew berry stuff and red bulls)...if you want to sleep helps to quit as early as possible.
I actually need to make it so I sleep through NFL Sundays.

Do you have anxiety issues? If so, get to the doc and get some help. I dealt with that for 3-4 years before I finally decided to get on medication. Can't even believe I waited that long...I feel so much better....it's off the charts different.
I think exercise is huge as well. I was a machine this summer and felt great/slept great.....have been a lazy ass this last couple months....and I totally notice the difference. Eating well helps too.
I'd stay away from the "sleep aids." I think those help the symptom, but not the problem. I talked to my doc about this (I'm on lexapro and also have a prescription for Xanax that I only use a couple times a month...mainly for really stressful situations....and it's .25 milligrams which is nothing). He told me lexapro works on brain chemistry (long term solution) and Xanax works on the central nervous system (and becomes ineffective if used too often...short term solution). I think a lot of these sleep aids are short term solutions.
