There are lines in prostitution that really shouldn't be crossed, so I understand why the government doesn't allow it. It would however let women know that we can get sex easily, so we don't need to put you on a pedestal and wine and dine you with no guarantees.

i actually think that there wouldn't be a need for a pimp if the process was legal. like in a previous post, these women are a lot smarter these days, for the most part smarter than a lot of men. what this does is it would allow the women to pimp themselves out as a service. in fact, pimping could be a service of its own, for the less fortunate hoes. (somewhat like a staffing agency)

Anyone that thinks that making prostitution legal would HELP the underage, trafficked, pimped, is being was overly simple-minded.

Right now, you see a guy pick up a hooker on a side street, hop in and agree to terms on sex, that is automatically illegal. Their pimps can be arrested, or the prostitute themselves can be arrested, taken away from the pimp, and helped in the right direction.

If you make prostitution legal, it opens a can of worms because you don't know who is doing it legally, or against their will. If the police try to intervene, I'm sure they'd have a hard time trying to get the pimps to cooperate.

Never seen it happen myself, but all these CNBC shows give examples of Asian woman being trafficked and threatened themselves, or have threats directed to their families. It's not as easy as you think to separate from one. It's not a matter of being "smart" or not.

Also, not even sure how government could even regulate it. Sure there could be legitimate agencies where the upper end women go, but what does that leave for your decent to ugly looking women. Leaves them on the street, with a pimp, making cash on the side, which the government won't be able to get it's hands on.

Not to mention that old school and some new school men were taught that women are precious beings and don't want them out selling their bodies and getting beaten to fulfill someone's sick fantasies.

You know if you had a daughter you wouldn't want them selling themselves for sex. It's not even an option now because it's not legal.

The simple-minded are the Americans themselves. Just take a look at other countries that already have them operating legally, they have actual laws in place to protect the business. How wouldn't the government know how to regulate it, there are examples of how to execute the plans worldwide. Over 50% of the countries have prostitution legal. But I know what the sentiment is, and the bottom line is that a service like this shouldn't be regulated, and that is where the government is wrong. The American culture has vastly outgrown the government, and until some type of change is made, nothing is going to change in this country.

Paragraph (1) What he is saying is dumb. By making it legal you can control it easier and all parties involved can make more money by doing greater voume.

Paragraph (2) Wrong again, nobody is helped by the government getting involved and arresting people. Pimps and hoes do what they do to make MONEY.

Paragraph (3) Dumber yet even more. Have the girls register, get checked and issue them an identification card. There would be no need for pimps if legal..They are only around because it is illegal and therefore extremely dangerous to do. Make it legal and the pimps go do some other illegal scam to make their dough.

Paragraph (4) Anyone who watches a TV show on CNBC to get their information on a subject is...well...I won't say. They have to make up a bunch of crap and make it seem interesting and real so you'll stick around and watch the commecials.

Paragraph (5) Another dumb statement. Regulate it like anything else. Our restaurants, highways, retail stores, etc.. all regulated like most everything else in our lives. The regulators are not perfect of course, but I see no problem in regulating some hookers who just want to make some fast money. It is legal already in so many other countries and they have no problem with regulation. He worries about ugly women being able to work..WHAT? Uglies will find their own market if we stay a capitalist country. Ugly girls will still work..albeit at a cheaper price...and don't forget uglies may have special talents with their mouth.

Paragraph (6) Dumber again. If a woman wants to go into business selling sex to make money, why should she have a problem? Nobody wants to see any beatings..Make it legal so the girls can work in a safe setting. Only because it is illegal do the girls agree to see the goofy guys..Make it legal and screen the clients and beating rates go way down.

Paragraph (7) Only rational comment. I agree, would not want my daughter to do it. Legal or non-legal it goes on anyways..every day, every minute. Men want to have sex and will pay for it..Whether they buy a big house for $500,000.00 and the wife gets half...or they pay some hooker $200 for 30 minutes.
